This kind of technology has been around for years. Hospitals tried using them a long time ago, but I don't think it ever took off.

"Someone help this man! He's bleeding out!"

It would have been an awesome twist ending if when she held out her arms to hug her son, it was just a robot with his face on it.

:lol
In all fairness, it was meant for doctors who were out of the area (vacation, other hospitals, ect) to do stuff that wasn't invasive. However, some of the fancier ones were fitted with equipment to take blood pressures and the like. The one that I saw even had a slightly humanoid styled body to "put the patients at ease." Needless to say, people in Kentucky didn't like talking to "goddamn robo-foreigners"! (<-- True Quote)

I was thinking the same thing! :lol
Either that or one of the real-life people to finally just snap and attack the robots.

I was super creeped out when she had her ipad on wheels lurk behind the guy with headphones on, and she just stood there STARING at him for a bit before announcing herself.
I don't understand why they wouldn't just video conference over the computer if they needed to talk face to face so badly. It would be a lot quicker to instantly connect rather than wait for whatever that thing is to slowly wheel it's way over. I guess that's why I don't make the big buck though.
