Quite terrible Monaco GP. Fantastic Massa and Grosjean moronics aside, this was a snoozefest behind SC:s for too long and got even worse with Perez moron crash with Kimi at the end :maf

Perez is blaming Kimi but noone else is on his side, not even Whitmarsh. huahua. Those last two laps from Kimi though, wow. The last pass on Hulk was fucking loco, waggling about like crazy under braking into Saint-Devote.

Two weeks break before Canada, will be interesting to see how different the new Pirellis will be.

Next year I could see them being a potential points contender across all races along with Haas (Who just need to solve their brakes issue because they have been very fast lately and I'd expect them to do well at COTA and Mexico). At the same time, Force India have a good car and they could land a decent replacement for Hulk. Perez has been ridiculously quick this season as well. So they won't be hurting for potential replacements.

At the minute it's looking like that unless your team name is Sauber. Everything's looking up for next year.

McLaren lol! Mercedes sandbagging in testing is nothing new, we'll see how far off the others really are soon enough, but first impressions are it's going to be like last season but with quicker lap times. Ferrari weren't really any stronger in the race-sim runs, actually a bit slower. Dunno about RBR, but wouldn't trust that Renault drivetrain yet

Everyone seems to be holding their cards close to their chest even in the first Aussie FP sessions and there's a lot of accusations of sandbagging going on since the Barca tests. I don't think we'll see a clear picture of what's going on till the first qualifying and they go all out. I could see this easily being a Vettel Vs Hamilton year. Bottas always had great pace but he's always been poor in hard racing situations (See every time Kimi run him off the road the last few years) so he's going to find it really hard against Hamilton when trying to pass because Hamilton is super agressive under pressure and it cost Hamiltoon a few times last year. Never mind people like Kimi (Who he had plenty of literal run ins with the last few years) and Ricciardio. Meanwhile, if Seb has the pace to run with Hamilton, they will be at each other, especially since Seb has grown less afraid of getting into it with other drivers for position compared to the dominant years. He got the Tifosi temperament, now.

The Hass and Renaults seem to have got a good dose of speed though. Hard to hide that (Even when Palmer flies into the gravel and gets the session red flagged). Hopefully Hass got their brake issues sorted (When they meant bringing American motorsport to F1 last year, they shouldn't have included the ARCA Brakes). Williams look like they have another year of struggling even with Massa pulled out of retirement. lol McLaren and Sauber.

It's going to be an interesting season.

Seb in 2nd only within 0.2 to Hamilton though after years of being over a second off front row pace :whew

I'd take that instead of being a whole second off the pace. Red Bull seemed to kinda blow it as well because Max was running everywhere and Ricci into the wall.

Also Grosjean getting 6th was a nice surprise. Hulk sticking in top 10 contention most of the day and only getting knocked out in the dying seconds of Q2 was good compared to Renaults last few seasons alone. More surprised the Force India's went out in Q2 since Perez was usually a lock to get to Q3 most of the time last year.

Race day is a different matter but that field is way tighter than expected so there might be something salvageable out of it after all.

OK Race. Rookies binning it everywhere, too much concern about the tires to really get going and losing Ricciardio at the start lost a lot of drama. But race pace is way up across the field compared to 2016 that it might be an interesting season.

That Ferrari and Red Bull pit strategy actually works this year is pretty mindblowing. Plus it's becoming really obvious that Mercedes have way better qualifying pace than race pace.

Glad I'm going to Catalunya in a month for the GP :rejoice

I understand it's unreasonable to be annoyed at a driver for keeping his place, but I dont know what Massa's end game was there, he was never beating Kimi and was just wasting his resources defending against him. sometimes it's better to let faster cars go when you arent really fighting them so you can conserve your tires/engine/shit for stints when it matters for your own race, i feel this was one of those times.

Also really wanted to see Kimi and Valteri tangle again :fbm

They couldn't dump him last year, but now that things are moving around with teams it looks like he'll have to find himself a seat somewhere else. That shit he pulled last year was dangerous and he should have been black flagged then. He's lucky he even got to race as long as he has.

I'm in my preliminary planning of a trip for next year to the Russian GP and it'd be nice to have him stay around at least till that is over. I wish him well but I don't want to see him in a top tier team. He'll get another chance if not in F1 in Indy.

It's funny but my tickets and trip this year to the USGP are costing roughly the same as a Podium package with travel to the Russian GP and Russia/Ukraine/Chernobyl/Kazakhstan/Baikonur Cosmodrome/Kyrgyzstan for several weeks. Gotta love that USD conversion rate.

Unfortunately he has some horrible trackside behaviour that comes with a lot of baggage and no one seems to be able to keep him in check. If an older wiser Kyvat could take him under his wing and groom him he might still have a chance. I don't see anyone taking the chance on him though. He burns every bridge he crosses and the candle wick on both sides at the same time. I'm hoping he can hold out till VW/Porsche comes back into F1 there he might have a chance with a new team.

So happy to see him come out top after all the drama of this last year. Well deserved win and Hamilton didn't wanna risk the championship so he didn't push too hard (Not like he had the pace.) Seb was a monster all race long and Ricardo knew how to use the traffic to fight off the attack. Seb riding on Wherline's car was funny to see after Stroll hit him on the cooldown. Bottas is starting to give up the ghost and getting outshined by the mid pack. Gonna miss this track next year that's for sure, but Petronas wants it back and they are the dominate team it will happen.

Now it's off to Jopon! :japancry

THEN USGP in like 3 weeks holy fuck can't wait.

I'm like a kid waiting to go to Disneyland right now. :D

Also even better I can buy a Polo from the vendors at the USGP because I lost weight and I don't give a fuck if it costs $180 bucks.

For the last month or two I wasn't able to get an evaluation from my doctor to send for insurance reasons I had to be under 300 pounds in order to participate and I did it! Fuck yes I did. Car's we'll be driving are the Audi Sport TT RS and if I pass cert I can then move on to the R8 V10 for a special night race. I'm hoping I've got the skill to pass cert for the R8 event.

I'm not going on any F1 trips this year sadly and I had some serious plans to see more than one race this year. I might still try and go to Mexico GP since I've been to the USGP several times now. Miami being in the mix next year is interesting, but It is a horrible track design for those attending the street track.

The fans long ago stopped, the FIA loves to pretend though.

also, FP in 5 mins, Mercedes to grazie ragazzi the fuck out of Ferrari this race, it's one of the 0.4mm Pirelli weekends, unless the new Ferrari upgrades are amazing.
