Omigod I feel like it's 2004 again...I had a lower hairline and a higher libido

aw yeah. I remember playing NTSC games on my 13" 50hz baby back in the day using swap magic. Them shits go black and white on you.
Anyway, use it to install mcboot on your memory card and start loading shit off a hdd. you'll almost feel civilized.

Oh man, Swap Magic was so awesome, I could play my Japanese PS2 games before I finally broke down and bought a Japanese PS2.

You have a bunch of options depending on what type (fat/slim/slim2) and what model number PS2 you have. All you're trying to do is to trick the PS2 into reading discs with the disc drive open. There are flip tops (special top cases that let you open them while tricking the PS2) and magic memory cars and other programs and crap.
if you have a slim PS2 (with the external power brick), you can skip the flip top and mem cards and just open it and put some pieces of tape over a couple sensors.
just google your model number and swap magic

I went to some weird kid's house and he installed some shit on my memory card that let me play pirated games a couple of years ago :bow2

yes do what diunx said
use swap magic to softmod your memory card with freemcboot http://freemcboot.info/
download esr and openps2loader elf files and put them on your memory card
then you have two choices:
1. patch your game isos, burn them to discs and launch with ESR
2. download open ps2 loader and stream the games over network cable

freemcboot isn't compatible with Swap Magic 2.0

This takes me back
Just kidding. Bought all my games. :flex:

Get a proper pc and pcsx2, shit is glorious.

freemcboot isn't compatible with Swap Magic 2.0
then you probably gotta do the switcheroo every time you want to play one of your filthy pirate games. burning the games is straightforward enough, you just find .isos and burn them as data discs, either it's a proper image and it works or it's a bad image and it doesn't. happy huntin

you'll need a flip top or something else to trick your ps2. For a fat PS2, you might be able to take off the DVD drive cover and pull the disc out that way. For a slim PS2, you can open it and cover the sensors. or buy a flip top and install it on either model.

2.0 doesn't play DVD's over a certain size without DVDloaderv7. I already have a flip-top, but 2.0 is worthless for a game of the size I am trying to play.
I am buying Swap Magic 3 and going to install freemcboot, which is only compatible with 3.6 and 3.8. Thanks for the help my nigs.
