I'm very very excite for this game yes :)
Cums out next week.
-
Best Mario game on the GameCube finally gets a sequel. :rejoice
-
Got it preordered on Amazon which means they'll ship it out to me 1-2 weeks after release
-
I'll probably be a little bitch and buy this from the eStore when it comes out

I'd be more inclined to get a 3DS for this than any "real" Mario game. Hope it turns out good.
-
Luigi's Mansion deserved a sequel years ago.
-
game looks great and I'd pick it up if not for the unfortunate release date
-
:bow :bow :bow

this is apparently getting some pretty rave reviews

although personaly after hearing some people being unhappy with the latest paper mario,i have an hard time believing nintendo getting a game like luigi's mansion right
-
This isnt made by Nintendo ;)

oh it's made by the punch-out wii guys? i had no idea, guess that explains it :teehee
-
paper maridio 3ds is the worst game i ever played and paper mario n64 is prob top 3 best game of all time for me
-
Considering this. Going to take my niece to get a 3DS XL this Sunday... Isn't there some promo where you get a free game when you register an XL and this game?
-
Yes

-
The Punchout dudes are great game designers. Lot of attention to detail, stylistically
-
Picked this and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon up at Toys R Us, they're having B1G1 40% off all games.
So you could get Luigi's Mansion and Bioshock if you wanted on Tuesday.
-
Picked it up too. I know a guy at Target and am glad he happened to be there today...the clerk had no idea what I was asking for and apparently was checking to see if they had 3DS systems in stock instead of games. :lol :-\
-
Game is exactly like the original. So good.
I dont really understand the need for ranking me on the levels. I want to explore and take my time. Apparently that is a bad thing to do now.
-
you can revisit the levels to get a better ranking and search for boos. On your first run through, just take your time and get dat loot
game is fucking great. These guys should handle a Zelda
-
You have to beat the first four levels to unlock multi. I read you can play with friends only rooms. So post some codes up and we can try it out.

Ranking gives replay value later on. Pretty common thing in action games.
I'll probably pick this up along with Donkey Kong Country Returns 3DS. 3DS delivering the classic action gaming goods.

starting to realize that "X dev should make Zelda" is code for "don't let nintendo ead and Aonuma make another Zelda"
-
What's with everyone slobbering over a sequel to Luigi's Mansion? Did I miss something?
-
Yea, you missed good taste
Enjoy your "Zelda sequel"
-
Hey, I enjoyed LM, but I don't remember anyone clamoring for a sequel.
-
You aint lookin hard enough nicca.
-
Eh.. it looks like a good game, I'll buy it any enjoy it. I can't stand the ADHD hyper-colored Mario games anymore at my age, so at least I won't have a seizure playing this.
-
I aint tryin to be a cheat but where are these 3 gems at?

"I thought the battery might have died on your DS. I turned down the screen brightness so we should be good for now."
Haha, meta humor. :teehee
-
I'm missing the same three demi :lol
I imagine you can get them after gaining several new abilities in other mansions
-
actually wait...I have that second one....go out to the front lawn and use the spectrobe thing on the bunched-up flowers.
I'm missing that third to last one
-
This is a sequel? Thought it was a port. Huh. Have reason to care now.

Thread title: Luigi's Mansion 2 :P
It's a full-on sequel with an online/ad-hoc 4P co-op multiplayer mode added. You can also play this mode by yourself.
-
Finding all the boos and gems is freaking ridiculous. I looked up one that I couldn't find and when I saw the solution, I was like :comeon It's bad enough that they make you replay the entire mission when you're just trying to look for collectibles. I'm just gonna skip the ones I can't find and then go back with a guide later.
-
That's what I've been doing. I prefer how you find Boos in the first game, but battling them in this game is much better.
-
the graphics are pretty good - has a nice diorama look to it. Game is so so at the moment, but Luigi is pretty great as a character. "Heeellooo?"
And - fuck no - you have to find fucking boos like the shit half of the first game? Iwata pisses in my kettle again :/
Bit late now - already bought.
-
No, honestly not at all. The Boos unlock a secret level for each world. Catching them is mostly ancillary.
-
Any post-completion verdicts on the game? Anything unlocked for completing the game?
-
i like this game.
-
i'm in the second mansion and i need to collect 5 things. and i can't figure out how to get back to the 3rd and 4th floor :maf
-
Haven't touched my 3DS since the day the game came out. :-[
-
it's aight but I don't get the LUB LUB
file under "mostly harmless," says I
-
As soon as I've completed my second-playthrough of Fire Emblem and then finish Hotel Dusk 2, I'll grab this bad boy.

i figured it out :)
-
Finished the game! Loved it!
-
Since Soul Sacrifice was a POS to me (another $40 well spent), I cracked this game open and am about 2 hours into the game. I like it so far. The graphics are really nice and probably the best I've seen out of the 3DS yet. The 3D effects are pretty ace too if you have the slider cranked up. I also like a lot of the little details the game has and the game rewards you handsomely for exploring it seems. Good start.
-
How long is this game?
-
How long is this game?
i finished it in around 12 hours? but i didnt go back and explore a bunch. i imagine if you were in to that it could get you around 14 or 15 hours of gameplay
-
It's not a long game.
Collecting gems is useless. It unlocks absolutely nothing.
Collecting the Boos unlocks a bonus level that is just a time trial - useless
The third mansion is the weakest.
The fourth mansion is the shortest.
Boss fights were good in general.
I think I prefer Luigis Mansion 1 overall - though I havent played it again in a long while.
-
Yeah after a bit of time the original is better overall, but this is a very solid sequel.

Thanks for letting me know, I'm not going to bother doing either now.

Beat the game with 13:02 on the clock.
+ Lots of little things to open up and check out. Reminds me of Blue Dragon on the 360 where if you want, if you bother to look inside every drawer or every vase, you can find something (usually money).
+ Pretty good 3D effects if you turn up the 3D setting.
+ Nice graphics overall. I thought this is one of the few 3DS titles that looks like it is pushing the hardware by comparison.
- Repetitive gameplay. Not a lot of variety but that is the purpose of the game: suck up ghosts, poke around at things, clear a room, repeat.
I think it is a solid B title. A pleasant surprise. Looking forward to playing Donkey Kong Country Returns later this month. The 3DS is kicking a lot of ass this year.
