If the soundtrack is anything to go by... (http://kotaku.com/if-this-really-is-far-cry-3-blood-dragons-soundtrack-470801774)
... sorry Bioshock Infinite, this is the real GOTY 2013. Bad '80s action movies ahoy!
So...should I play FC3?
Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon is THE Kick-Ass Cyber Shooter taking place on a bizarre open-world island crawling with evil. Welcome to an 80’s VHS vision of the future. The year is 2007 and you are Sargent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando who’s fighting against a cyborg army gone rogue. Your mission: get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world. Experience every cliché of a VHS era vision of a nuclear future, where cyborgs, blood dragons, mutants, and Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Navy Seals) collide. Playing Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon doesn't require a copy of Far Cry® 3.

Is this XBLA only?

I might download this illegally for free, and then purchase when it's on steam sale for £1.50.
That's morally acceptable right guys?

who cares? i probably won't buy it, unless the gameplay transcends the style, which i'd bet my dick it won't. Not gonna reward them for mining some cultural stuff to leverage for $$$ unless there's a good video game behind it.

Haha, yeah, the uplay achievements popping up in the videos made me laugh.
It's lose/lose for me and my team. I totally understand that component is tough for people to get, but its the reality. They are bigger than us and will win whether I say something or I say nothing. But if I say nothing, my whole studio will look at me and wonder why I didn't say anything.
I am getting pummeled here and on twitter for speaking my mind, which is totally what I expected. I am ok with it. I thought it wasn't cool and said something.
I apologized directly to people for how poor my tone was. I did not apologize for my opinion on the matter since, well, its my opinion.
FUN TIMES IN NEOGAF CITY.
if you buy it on steam, it'll just launch uplay when you launch it on steam, right?
guy at capybara games whose Super Time Force trailer is basically a Ren and Stimpy rip off is claiming the Blood Dragon trailer rips him off.

he's in too deep to realize they're both creatively bankrupt and obviously/shamelessly gunning for meme status
he's on gaf posting about it too. Edited this post:QuoteIt's lose/lose for me and my team. I totally understand that component is tough for people to get, but its the reality. :lol
poor dude. had such a unique idea of channel changing in a trailer, which i'm sure none of us have ever seen before. He might not even be an 80s kid, considering he missed that Blood Dragon's trailer is based on what old shitty rerecorded VHS tapes do...which is also what the game itself does throughout the whole game, as far as I can tell.

correct

You think Steam is the only thing that got better over time? Modern game torrents don't have all that shit. Just copy some files over and you're set.
:bow the future
my copy wont run :tocry
Looks like shit.
Modern shitty FPS with 80s style & neon lights = OMG LOOKS AMAZING
Gamers are desperate these days.
Retro themes are appealing to dudes who still have 80s cartoon figurines lying around.. or figurines in general.I don't have either. I just like Commando or games where the intent behind the game was to be fun.

i want to purchase this soundtrack why is there no place i can purchase it
You get the soundtrack if you pre-order on Steam, BUT you also have to wait until it comes out.
This game has a better Tron soundtrack than the Tron soundtrack Daft Punk made.

:what how is this game still not out yet
Aesthetic, nostalgia, retro dood
Sneaking around felt much better. It seems like in this one they want you to go in guns blazing.

Totally agreed with that. I really wish they'd tweaked the gameplay a bit to emphasize the guns-blazing approach, 'cuz being sneaky with this atmosphere just feels totally wrong.

Wait, really? I feel the exact opposite of you guys. I feel like a bona fide badass sneaking up to dudes with my knife, and it's fun and challenging to pull off in the levels. I don't really have a point of reference without playing Far Cry 3, but I've enjoyed my stealth-based approach so far. Were there big armored dudes in the original game too? Those are the only guys that require some strong-arming.

The first thing that immediately stood out to me when I initially previewed Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon wasn't the neon, it wasn't the hark back to the ridiculousness of the 80's, it wasn't even the blood dragons themselves. That's because I didn't get to see much of any of that before being hit with a gay, possibly homophobic joke.
