Things I care about in a phone:
-GOOD CAMERA
-ability to text
-ability to facebook
-ability to web browse
-ability to use spotify app to stream bluetooth music through my car stereo
I'd recommend the Nexus 4 but the battery is pissing me off.
I'd recommend the Nexus 4 but the battery is pissing me off.
Also I can't decide whether its my phone, carrier, or the apps I'm using, but there's some pretty janky issues when it comes to wifi and data access that are increasingly pissing me off.
Edit: I have to say though, I'm sorta jelly of the note 2.

My one big fear. How long have you had it?

Does the OP have kids? Highly doubt it, as he sounds gay.
Therefore get something cool and fun, rather than an iPhone.

For roughly two months. Excellent phone, shit battery.
Isn't Note 2 a freaking tablet or mini-tablet?
I need a phone I can stick in my pocket. Small and sleek. My iphone 4 size is perfect.
Isn't Note 2 a freaking tablet or mini-tablet?You don't have to go as big as the Note 2, but you're gonna have to get use to using phones bigger than the small ass iphone 4. Unless you just go for the iphone 5 I guess.

Eh, then you are in for a rough time. Every phone manufacture out there is going for the big screen and they are not stopping anytime soon.
I know your pain, I love the 920 but it's a brick and I miss small screens. Though some phones like the HTC 8X can be big as well as hand friendly so it's not always a con.
tl;dr get the iPhone 5 since Apple is the only one sticking with small screens.
But please consider a Windows Phone 8 device. Please understand.
Get an Obama Phone, Bebpo.
I can't believe it
someone bought my shilling

I just dropped my phone on the floor while trying to record myself cooking breakfast for Instagram so now I'm in the same situation as OP. What's the hotness?
ordered the 3a xl, thanks bby
I installed LineageOS 16 (= Android 9) on an old Galaxy S5 of mine today, just for the heck of it (I had always been curious about it).
It works perfectly. Quick, responsive, no stuttering.
So you can run the newest version of Android on a phone from five years ago and it does so just as well as the latest, most expensive model. So other than getting a better camera, there is no reason to buy a new phone. In some ways the old phone is actually superior because you can replace the battery (costs ~$10).
It's all a scam.

Seems like 2014 was the peak and it has been diminishing returns ever since as far as actual technological advancement is concerned.
In fact, features have been removed since then for no reason other than making phones cheaper to produce or to have them expire more quickly or in order to sell you expensive, short lived dongles (Apple Airpods). S5 was the last flag ship phone that had it all: There was a version with two sim slots AND a separate microSD slot (called S5 Duos). No modern phones have that, Samsung dropped it after S5. User replaceable battery (but water proof nonetheless). Infrared blaster (you can use an S5 as remote control, Samsung ditched this feature after S6).

Just got my phone, can't wait to watch porn on it!

You couldn't pay me to use a phone from 2014 these days, either hardware or UI. This post is wicked rose-tinted breh.
the screen lags almost as soon as he skips around :lol shut the fuck upIt doesn't do this for me. No discernible lag. Smooth for surfing, too. No stuttering at all.
I wasn't making the case that old phones running current-ish software are deficient, just that both hardware and software have moved on from 2014 and I disagree things were objectively better back then.
2013 thread :bow
I got a Nokia 8.1 (?) with Android One. Does its work, no complaints here.
not using wireless headphones :confused
At this point, does it really matter? You can always just get an adapter to plug them in anyway. Props to the companies who provide this accessory with their phones.
