So....Square was in crisis and Final Fantasy 1 was supposed to be their last RPG.   Now Square-Enix is in crisis and they have to Bravely Default in order to get their company back on track :teehee

Given recent events at SE, what was true as of last week may no longer be so.  Wouldn't get my hopes up.

wouldn't the recent events make it more likely stuff like this and Type-0 would make it over here?   Not releasing them in some form seemed like more of a bad move than a good move, particularly in FF's case.

MY TOTALLY UNINFORMED ANALYSIS

-- Type 0 has completely lost its launch window. The PSP market is utterly dead and even as a BC Vita game, no, just no. Unless there's a full-on Vita remake/reskin or a port to another machine, I don't think you'll ever play this in English.
-- BD:FF needs rebranded, maybe as Final Fantasy Stumpylegs Adventures, but 3DS stuff is doing well enough that it'd probably do fine -- unless Square continued its bad habit of making gigantic ROMs for handheld systems that cost a ton to manufacture and heavily minimize profits in the West. I'd probably approach Nintendo USA to act as publisher for this.

Neither of these games are going to do the tiniest bit to mitigate Square's financial burden.

This is good news :)

I heard enough positive impressions that I want to play it. Between this and the Fantasy Life trademark news its been a good week for 3DS rumors

My heart keeps coming back to XII International HD + Type-0 HD dual pack.   My brain says stfu and just play the inevitable fan translation on the inevitably optimized PSP emulator when those inevitably happen.


although, I just realized that I've never actually checked out reviews and impressions of Type-0.  Maybe I should do that before thinking I want it...

I remember Aeana saying something about a bit of fanservice at some parts she wasn't too particularly enthused with...

Well I mean look at the promo art. I mean there's nothing bad about it, but it's a bit ugguu.

I guess if they changed the name BRAVELY DEFAULT FLYING FAIRY for the US market the existing fanbase would be confused and not buy it, another brilliant deduction by Regy

Bravely Default is listed as a "working title". Not that it matters, the market for this game won't refuse to buy the game because of a goofy name.
