Title: Injustice: Mortal Kombat Edition Now Coming To PS4/Xbone/PC/Vita
Post by: Wrath2X on April 15, 2013, 08:24:07 AM: I just bought the game 2 hours ago and spent those two duking out with my little and not as geeky yet brother. It's pretty good, there seems to be tons to do which is what I like about Netherrealm Studios. MK9 was fantastic and this is shaping up to be as well.

Fighting games need less canned animation bullshit, i'm really sick of super animations and things like that.

Hell man after MK, thats the kind of crap I want. MK's single player was fun and silly, it's the only reason I'm interested in Injustice, because I want another sp like that.

i don't know anything about the comics, but based on my attempts to get into them as a kid, Marvel always seemed to have the more diverse and interesting universe + stories.

and look at UMVC3 marvel side vs. this game and tell me who has forgotten what made superhero comics fun.

I got through a couple of Frank Miller's fascist pornos starring batman when I was a teen, but even then it was kinda stupid. And this was a time I thought Papa Roach was cool.

yeah, umvc3 is about as far as i've gone, aside from the whole Infinity War thing. even then I don't know shit about like dormammu, rocket raccoon, x23, etc. i wanna check out some really early marvel comics too.

Of course if I read the wiki pages for those characters I guess it would be a ton of super hyperbolic shit there too... At a certain point it just seems like none of it matters and everyone can do anything.

brob is just hitting on a very common criticism of the dc universe: the characters are generally absurdly overpowered. the ones who aren't have been given the greatest overpower of them all: fanboy writers.

i agree with you on the quality of the comics nowadays, though. and i am a marvel zombie, so you know things are bad in the merry marvel marching society if i'm saying that.

The biggest offender is superman.

Injustice pools replacing marvel pools! :omg Can't say it isn't deserved, ChrisG has won that much and he'll win this. Pools often suck because of low level play, top 4 often sucks because it's the same people...there's a sweet spot for marvel these days in late pools/top 8 until all the interesting players are out. It's turning into AE where it's not interesting at a pure East or pure West tourney, but exciting when top players from both sides are there (well, AE is only interesting to me when international players are there, but you get the comparison.)

btw, I tried the demo and it's awesome. I'm in there for sure. Feels way better than MK9. Even in a few minutes of playing I could see that.

Frame data in move lists, the ability to pin a move or combo to the screen while you play--it's like fighting game developers are starting to think of the players. What next, showing hit boxes in something other than replays from matches you've played online in UMVC3 Vita? ::)

I got just about everything else unlocked already. Glad that they made it much easier to unlock alts compared to MK.

Their response to this for Injustice is that anyone going online would be prompted to download compatibility packs to continue this time. But no doubt that shit is on the disc.

huh, I was reading at 3am and it sounded difficult, I guess I misread. as for on-disc, I always felt bad for people with shitty bandwidth caps who prob liked the idea.

And yeah, I used some credit to buy this and this game is pretty awesome. It's fun to win with Harley against all these super people.

I think I still hate the wager system, but I'm not sure I totally understand how it works yet. I'm on board with interactables now, but they're basically impossible to react to online, since there's big input delay, even with healthy ping. Online needs a patch, as usual.

I peeked because he was hammering on a button that let him meow. It was pretty annoying, but apparently necessary for an achievement. Good fun was had by all.

Also tried playing it a bit, but it wasn't really my thing. Seems ok to watch though.

I refused to play as that fucking weird ass wrestler 90s dude. by the time UMK3 came out, most people didn't care around here (and this was at one of their main test sites.) Of course War Gods flopppped. and I don't think they even got MK4. I had to go to a different arcade to try it. That game is a special kind of fucked up, but imagine the beta :lol

I guess they made up with Daniel Pesina, he was in the series retrospective from around the time MK9 came out. all that over fucking Bloodstorm too. Strata really couldn't make a fighting game for shit.
