I'm interested in SMT4, Killer is Dead, Dragon's Crown, Muramasa, and Ys Celceta. There are some decent games coming out but I'm not really hyped for anything. I want Yakuza 5. :(

Fuck I forgot Killer is Dead. FUCK.

Killer is Dead, Last of Us, Tales of Xillia, Saints Row 4 Resident Evil Revelation, and yes I guess GTA5 is summer so that as well for me. Pretty standard though, Summer's had good releases for a while.

SMT4 is exclusive to the region locked 3DS system right? So it's probably a fall release at best for me. Persona 4 Arena is out next month, maybe I'll play that this summer.

Killer is Dead might be fun.

I will gamefly Killer is Dead. Thankfully Animal Crossing can be played casually for like five minutes a day. I'll save Mario and Luigi for end of the year.

Is GTA V even summer?

September.

It was included in Himumu's initial list, so according to hir current whim, that's still summer.

Summer ends September 21. GTAV comes the 17.

Sure.  Is September 18 still considered "early," or is that "mid"?
Title: Re: Fuck this summer - too many games

Mid. Forgot the release date for a minute but yep, it is a summer game.

According to Wikipedia, autumn starts in North America with the September equinox. This year that's September 20, my birthday! So, yes, you are exactly 2 days correct. Good going!

Most of the games you listed won't be worth playing.  I'm only hype for SR IV

Saints Row 4 and Shadowrun Returns, that's about it for me.

Technically I already own FC3 Blood Dragon, Shadowrun Returns, and Grimdawn; that's good enough.  Summer is good for backlog or light gaming with traveling or w/e.  Dividing up time towards the end of the year will be tougher.

Supposedly. They released PC minimum specs a few weeks ago.

Yeah, but there's that recent thing with them announcing they were canceling titles.  The game didn't show up on their sales forecast list.

they had a "Other" category, which it probably falls into.  The game is done, I think.

Yeah, I would assume so with a June release, but there's been speculation that it got shelved for some reason.

Hmm...comment posted after Zelda mini blow-up.  That time of the month, Himu?   :P

It's a Capcom game coming out for 360, PS3, and PC.  There was some hype when they first unveiled the game, but now it seems almost forgotten.  Capcom doesn't seem to be promoting it at all, which is weird since it looks good.  It, DW8, and SR4 are what I'm looking forward to the most this summer.

Can't believe that game isn't out in Europe yet.  It's getting close to a year old on consoles already.   :o  I think the community for it is already kind of dead.

I don't think Capcom really gives a shit about it.

Didn't the game start out as PS3 exclusive, but then Sony dropped the title?

The community was probably tiny to begin with and even if matchmaking is region free it will be almost dead by now. I don't care about online multiplayer so it's not a big issue for me, but I am hesitant about supporting such late ports at full price.

Can't remember.  I think originally people thought it was some big mystery Sony-developed game an E3 or two ago.  It's made by Dontnod Entertainment, who I've never heard of- are they a western developer who survived the Capcom purge?

It's really fucked-up what happened with this game's Euro release -and that they region-locked the game- when nobody in Japan was gonna import en masse anyway.

Yeah, fuck Index Corporation or whoever decided it was a good idea to start region-locking PS3 games. At least karma caught up with them.

with regards to atlus games I'm more worried about their 3DS endeavors. SMT4 hasn't got a PAL date yet. Strange Journey never made it here as far as I remember and I think when atlus goes back to making their smaller scale stuff Europe being ignored or spun by some under-qualified upstart (like with Arena) becomes a real possibility.

Atlus really needs to get some Euro offices going. Don't they like JP stuff over there even more than us yanks in some territories? Pretty sure I read that France is the second biggest consumer of manga worldwide after nippon for example. I'm hyped for SW8 and SRIV. Killer is dead can wait cause Suda games can all be beat in like an afternoon. Maybe the South Park RPG will make it out in the summertime? EDF can't be too far off either.

I hope it is. The gameplay didn't look really that amazing or anything, but I really love the setting and story.

I bet South Park is a October/November release.

EDF I could see over the summer, though. Need to announce a release date soon if that's the plan.

It was the headlining game in Borys' thread for GAMESCOM, not all that long ago:

I think Remember Me suffers from having been announced right around the same time as Watch Dogs, which received a lot of hype. I'm slightly less excited about RM now that I hear it's a French game which doesn't involve Michel Ansel.

Well I mean I'm interested in RM purely based on the fact that it's new and different.

But...

The whole changing memories thing looked really scripted and thus kind of boring in the videos I saw during the announcement. Then the combat just looks mashy, janky, and just kind of meh. It just kind of looks like an average game made this gen(complete with cinematic platforming straight from Uncharted!) when you take away it's setting and unproven gimmick. So I really can't get hyped up for it.

i tried the ds one; felt like a much more boring sims. even tho all the tasks were busywork, it still felt like it took forever to accomplish even the smallest stuff, and it never felt like there was enough variety in the tasks. also i hate mr resetti and fuck whoever wrote his shitty dialog i hope he dies alone

It also rewards you for playing regularly more so than other games. In fact it guilt trips you if you take long breaks. I couldn't tolerate the DS version for very long though.

Animal Crossing is great because you can play five minute chunks on the day to day. Owns. New Leaf is supposed to have lots of new stuff tho.
