Quantic Dream's Guillaume de Fondaumiere revealed to a Digital Dragons audience in Poland today that PlayStation 3 exclusive Heavy Rain cost just €16.7 million to make - even with all those emotional polygons stuffed in.
With Sony's marketing and distribution on top, the total spend looked something like €40 million. But, Fondaumiere said, "Sony earned more than €100 million with this game. It's very profitable."

To get 100 million revenue they would have to sell 1.7 million copies at 60 euro.
So if you add the cost of 17 million to that, they would need to sell 2 million copies at 60 euro.
17 millions seems low though with these budget weve been hearing. Then again I bet 70% of these uber budgets is marketing.

The wording's a little vague, though, "earned" could just mean raw sales.

That's supposing Sony got to keep the full retail amount and that they all sold at full price, which isn't the case. Davey's fudging.
