You know the type of racer that's instantly accessible and addictive
The ones that make you want to race the same track over and over because you want to shave 0.01 seconds off your time
It's just weird since I just booted up my 32X and played Virtua Racing Deluxe for the first time in like 10 years, and I actually had more fun with it than Ridge Racer 6, Gran Turismo, or any other racing game I played in the last 10 years....
-
Those games are okay but have you tried pole position II on the 7800? Godlike.
-
burnout revenge, fagcakes, and outrun 2006 C2C
-
F- Zero GX is really good. Its pretty much the only racing game Ive touched this decade.
-
Outrun 2, F-Zero GX...in other words, nothing's changed: The Sega racers still kick the asses of all the rest. :P
-
I've always been a Ridge Racer guy. Although, I admit, it's not as accessible as the Daytona series was
I think I became such an RR fan, because I owned a Playstation at launch (1995?!) and it was the only game that had replay value for the first 3 months of the systems inception.
-
All the other PS1 launch titles were abslolute crap. ESPN Xtreme sports lol. It took two years for FFVII to come out
-
In hindsight, it might look that way. But I thought the PS1 had one of the best launch lineups ever.
The first three months (By December of 05), you had Warhawk, Destruction Derby, Wipeout, RR, Jumping Flash, Battle Arena Toshinden. ESPN Xtreme Games was a decent knockoff until Road Rash came out later the next year. Granted ... almost all of those games offered very little in the way of depth. JF you could finish in one night.
You compare that to the launches (first 3 months) of this generation and I think the PS1 blows it away.

Get Burnout, dude!

failed thread.
seems to be a common thing opa-opa.
Plenty of "pick up and play" racers out there.
-
Scud Race beats the shit out of both VR and Daytona and you know it Opa.

Opa, have you played Rallisport Challenge 2? I get the feeling you describe from that game.
And I also love Virtua Racing Deluxe. It's what I got a 32X for.
