I read the manga but never saw the anime. Is it worth watching?

And...did it get a US release or not?

EDIT: Looks like only the first box set with 15 episodes got an official release from Viz... blargh. Did the full series get a fansub, if so who's the preferred subs?

If you've read the manga there's almost no point in watching the anime as it is about shot for shot. Still great, but takes a billion hours to complete due to the long length.
