Out tomorrow!
Thanks for more free gamerscore assholes!
-
I still havent played the first one.
-
For an adver-game that takes about 10 minutes to beat/get 200/200, the first Doritos Crash Course was pretty fun :P
-
Crash Course was fun especially on the MP side. It was very lite trials-esque experience. I'll definitely play the second.
You could make an exceptional game if they went ball outs and created a real track editor with share-able courses and lots of variations like Trials but they don't have that level of ambition for the series sadly.
-
I suspect it's more of a budget issue than enthusiasm, but yeah..
-
THIS GAME IS AWESOME
seems a lot looser and floatier than the first game which isn't that cool... feels kinda like LBP or something. Still, a cool game
-
I would buy Doritos to support this game, were any to be had.
-
It's fun like the first. Looks a bit better too.
-
Always online is SUCH. A. BAD. IDEA. was booted to the title screen halfway through a level, as the "service was unavailable". Unbelievable. Thankfully this is an advergame which I didn't pay anything for. Fuck the always online future!
-
Yeah the game should have an off-line mode. Even if they want to do something like restrict records and time keeping to the online stuff. The game didn't work the first couple of days because you couldn't log in to the servers. That seems to be fixed now but still.
-
This game has always online? ??? But it's a free game...
THE FUTURE IS HORRIBLE.
-
I'm 99% sure the always online thing is thanks to the IAP system they've implemented, and verification processes for purchasing in game items. You can earn stars to unlock shit by playing the game, or fork out MSP for "coins" which serve the same purpose. Pretty pointless.
-
tried playing this before and couldn't get past the title screen as "service was unavailable". Always online DRM is such a joke, the ability to play a game shouldn't be affected by some company's fucking servers.
Because of this and the Sim City debacle, I am NEVER paying for a game which requires you to be connected to servers at all times.
-
Finally got around to downloading it, and now I see why it's always online. You can only play the game if you have gold. So CC1 was free while CC2 is "free."
-
MS has to beef up Gold somehow... F2P is apparently the answer. Lulz.

FWIW, Behaviour says they're working with MS to get CC2 out to XBL Silver members as well. The online tournaments would likely be excluded, but "online multiplayer" via just leaderboards games have been part of XBL since the beginning.
The game is pretty fun. I enjoy it, and my kids like watching it played, as it is pretty much like Japan's Sasuke TV show.
-
I'm gonna fork out for some XBL gold soon, will attempt to finish this POS
-
I'll be in to getting into an Online Tournament or two next week. Let me know if you're game to enter.

Better finish it up if you haven't already. It's going away!
-
Oh mang. I will have to get on it.
-
To be honest, I think the first game's hard levels are harder, though there is ONE level in it which tested my patience worse than anything else I've played. I must have tried it 60 or more times. It's just so, so hard to get this one bounce/slide-jump/slide-jump/STOP combo.
I did it one time, vowed to never return to that level.
Nightmarish.
-
So rather than just remove the entirely unecessary always online component they're just scrapping the whole thing? That makes sense.

It's cheaper for a game that makes them no profit.
-
It looked to me like they planned to have it be a paid download Game, change gears to a free to play model, and then entirely failed to fit a valid free to play model into it... Because it is still an awesome game, without any barriers to progress. There is absolutely no need to purchase coins or stars or whatever it was.
Great game. I am sad there taking it out and shooting it.
-
Got all Gold Medals without dying, working on the stars.
Hopefully online is on life support to get these few online ones out of the way.
-
Finished the online - only took a single tournament. Just need to grind out these 75 bonus objectives then I can delete the game : )
Only took a few hours at most.
-
Wow! You got all the Stars already? Did you have much trouble with the Pirate level with that trampoline-skidjump-skidjump section?
-
No
Game was really easy. I was grinding Amazon-3 and got down to 43.2 seconds.
-
:bow
Jesus, I had a serious problem with that.
