Title: How far will PS360 drop in price when next gen hits?
Post by: Cerveza mas fina on May 29, 2013, 03:58:42 PM: I can see the PS3 being 179/199 in Europe for a while more, just with a few pack ins. (179 Fifa 2014 pack prob)

I think MS might drop the 360 price to 149 in Europe just to clear stock (won't work).

If they keep it high it might be because they need a large proportion of their margins to come from the current machines.

I could see either happening, but I think they're both really cheap in the UK atm anyway, going cheaper in the States would 'normalise' things in my eyes.

I can see 360 and PS3 hurting next-gen sales if they continue to sell long term... DS did the same to 3DS. It would have been a gamble on margins, but it might have been best to have cleared the stock pipeline by Summer IMO. Give consumers little choice.
