Congrats on your promotion Lager.
You will keep you current pay, get the title of the position above you but actually do the work of the position above that again.

uh... why would you accept a promotion without a pay-raise?
-
Looks good on my CV, that part where I actually have to do the work of someone even higher up just came up now. Shit is not gonna stand.
-
Promotions are just as superficial as pay raises. If its just another commodity you use for status. Deal with it stinking hippy
-
Nah PD baby, money pays the bills. But once youre out of playing WoW and jerking it to porn and think about starting a family you will understand that.

You don't need money, Lager. Just go to Swappigans.

I'm at a point in my early career where three superiors are trying to breed me to basically do their respective jobs...so in practice I have three areas of tent-pole responsibilities alongside with my actual position responsibilities. I've been working 65 hour weeks the last month or so!
:mindblown
oh well, good money and experience

Do you have enough seniority to fail upwards yet? If not, sucks, but I guess it does indeed look good on a CV... If you do, congratulations.
-
Fail upwards?
You mean like get a better job elsewhere? If so, yes. Shame I just turned down an offer though, since I thought this promo would be the shit. But there's more stuff.
-
No, I mean get promoted even further for being shit at the job.

Thats brilliant
-
Fail upwards?
Basically how every american company works.
-
It's true.
-
I never thought about it from that angle, it's very cynical but there must be some truth there.
-
Welcome to the real world, motherfucker.
The silver lining is that since you keep your pay, you are probably eligible for higher pay rises. Eventually you will equalize with others in your pay band (if your company has one).
-
Fuck the pay band (there is one yes), I'm having a talk soon about this.
