I remember as a young, blossoming teen, scouring the sex health section of my local library in a shameless search for pictorial representations of coitus. I happened upon one very nice book, but midway through, it showed a man nose-deep in some girl's pit bush, describing how erotic and sensual the enjoyment of sharing natural hair smells is for couples.

Even then I knew it was wrong.  :-X

still carried the memory of that drawing with me to the bathroom for a quick jack though

And that is? Men don't shave their faces, wax their backs, pluck their unibrows, and trim their pubes because grooming is fun.

I would rather the solution to this double standard be that men start shaving their pits and legs as well. I would be up for that.

There was an Internet survey a while back that had convulsive proof that men who were repulsed by hair on women's bodies were basically repressed paedophiles.

Pit hair is a-ok. Leg hair also doesn't bother me.

My first trip to The Bagelry in Santa Cruz, I was served by a large woman who had braided her blonde beard. It was about 2" long.

That weirded me out.

I mean while I don't l don't like armpit hair or even leg hair I can appreciate when a girl is exactly what she looks like. To be honest the only body hair I appreciate is pubes and that's just purely a sorta secondary sexual thing but face it, you aren't going to be sniffing armpits in any situation so it's just a thing that shows what you want.

I sort of feel like just fucking everything but without regret always.

The point is it's weird we expect females to be shaved all over, while men can let everything grow. I'm sorry you feel the need to pluck your eyebrows, thats mad homo man.

Do I want my fiancee to have armpit hair? No. This doesnt change the fact its a cultural crazy thing (just like anoerexia models etc.).

I'm just a product of the culture I grew up in, I don't think I can change those deeply ingrained values and stereotypes like that.

But I do know I would like them to change.

I can't let everything grow...I've had trims requested.   And I find it more comfortable myself.  less spider legs on the floor when I sweep/dust.

Men are naturally hairier than women--it makes sense that double standards regarding sexual attractiveness of body hair would develop.

Women prefer men with broad shoulders.
Women prefer men who are significantly taller than they are.
Women prefer men with large penises.
Women prefer men with low body fat.
Women prefer men with shaved faces or stubble.

Misandry.  ::) Culture.  ::)

The use of super-thin models is a narrow cultural phenomenon as evidence by the fact that 99% of men find women with significantly more body fat much more attractive--regardless of race or culture.

You're implying two more general arguments (that beauty standards almost all biologically determined via armchair evo-psych, and that they are equally burdensome for both genders) which are both absolute tosh.

Looking around it seems women are far more likely to trade on "physical" preferences than the reverse.

To expand on this I see all kinds of hot women with guys who don't even fit that criteria but they can't win regardless. If the guy is tall, she's with him because he's tall. If the guy has money, it's that. If the guy is built it's that. Or he's ugly, must have a huge dick. There's all kinds of insecure people who make shit up just to feel good but more often than not I see guys I consider ugmo with a pretty fine lady. Dunno what people are whiny about.
