MCD, why would you want to continue giving MS money period? If there weren't an pc alternative to windows that WASN'T Mac, I'd switch over easy. But Windows fucking Phone?
Guys, if you want to affect MS with these policies RIGHT NOW, I highly suggest you cancel your xbl gold. I did that very thing.
Does the meaning of the word "reversal" now mean "slight alteration"?

Edit- Wrong thread, meh.

Well, it's not like they were going to go back on this this far into things.
Now we wait for Sony to drop the other shoe.
Patrick Klepek in the Giantbomb video for the Xbox One news today said he heard it was Activision, EA and Ubisoft pushing console makers to block used games on a hardware level.
He says it around 8 minutes in.

I still doubt Sony will implement an "azure cloud" systemwide DRM solution. Even though the result will be the same to the end user, Sony can at least blame EA/Activision for it.
Also, smaller publishers can't afford or won't want to pony up for their own DRM servers.

Will be interesting to see what happens.
I can't see Sony & Nintendo ever blocking used games just because they'd lose Japan entirely since the entire ecosystem revolves around selling games a week later and buying them used. Pretty much no better way to make Japan portables only.

Sony will leave it up to the publishers. At that point, we can count on at least the three shithead companies behind all of this locking their shit down (so that's EA, Activision, and Ubisoft), and I expect Capcom at least will join in from Japan side. Square Enix will probably give it a try, too.

nah AVGN was funny because it played on the humor of the sort of jank we put up with as kids and our sparkly memories of the games. Plus AVGN didn't attempt to be all serious. It was all fun.
Also, AVGN had relevant information and a knowledge of gaming history. Now it's just all yelling for youtube hits.
Man I got really depressed watching that vid. More from him trying to seem angry and raging like a nerdlord.
Maybe I only liked AVGN because of how old I was at the time...
I don't really care. THe first video has almost 2m views. Get the word out.
Francis is the only RAGE guy I like.
Francis is the only RAGE guy I like.
I'd probably find him hilarious if I was comfortable with laughing at the mentally disabled.
Of course he is.
Btw my past Nintardism was "just an act."
Of course he is.No, seriously. The last Xbone blow-up had a down to earth, no screaming, no nerd-voice follow up.
Btw my past Nintardism was "just an act."
The greatest internet long-con ever. I played all you bitches.
I fooled you all guys, I don't really mean most I say.

I like the part where they're touting commonplace concepts as features.
Other people in your house can play your games! Wow!
Share games with your friends! Amazing!
Sell your old games when we allow it! Great!
In the light of recent news,is WiiU a slightly more wished product?
Slightly more, sure, but I think it's still well below the threshold of what most people will buy.
Some of what's happened with the WiiU is starting to make a great deal more sense, however, I will say that.

It'll be pretty funny if MS still wins the US with this thing and GAF realizes just how irrelevant the "hardcore" gamer is. First Nintendo, now Microsoft with dat bitter truth

I'm hesitant to assign any kind of influence to hardcore gamers lest they become even more crazed and delusional, but they are by and large the largest portion of early adopters. Early adopters are key for building momentum, and while the lame ass "boycotts" the likes of Ranger X and Amir0x are forming will likely amount to nil, the larger overall unrest could definitely be the first domino to fall. If you piss off large swaths of gamers and retailers, it's that much harder to convince developers to develop for your system (see also: Nintendo.)
Sigh….people just don’t like change – i get it. But this time next year all the pre-release whining will be long forgotten and the Xbox-One will be a mainstay in the majority of living rooms across the world. Why? Simple – let us not forget that above all Microsoft makes the most cutting edge gaming hardware (uh, wii-u anyone? lol) and once people experience the jaw-dropping graphics and audio fidelity on games that are ONLY available on Xbox (Halo, Forza, Fantasia, Madden and COD) everything else from the competitors will feel like Sega Genesis quality. Also, the TV integration is a killer. Every household watches TV and being able to control my set with vocal commands or high fidelity motion gesture controls is something straight out of Minority Report. Welcome to the future. Get on or get off.
