In mount and blade you can have fun from the bat almost based on my demo experience

the demo basically gives you the full game for an hour. you can do the tutorial area then you're let loose on the rest of the map for a half hour to do whatever you want.

This is her 5th 50k (I think?). She has another next weekend, with 12 miles the day before, and another one in 2 weeks, with 18 miles the day before. And then a long taper.
