You probably aren't, but I wanted to make a thread to note that MS finally got the dick out of their ass and stole a SONY idea for once.
At the show, they said if you are Gold, starting in July you get 2 free games a month.
Starting with Assassins Creed 2 and Halo 3.
-
at least it's something, i'm locked in for two years now
can't wait to get arkham city free again for the fifth time
-
They sure didn't start it with a bang...but this solves the "XBLGold doing nothing at all except being a pay gate"dilemma.
-
Depends on the selection for a given month. I'd pay $5 for the games if they interest me.
If i heard correctly, unlike PS Plus you keep these games permanently.

if this is true, yes I will. If not, then no.
-
Eh. Maybe I'll start in August.
-
Ok, maybe this isn't so hot after all.
As a gesture of thanks to the millions of Xbox fans around the world for their passion and loyalty, Xbox announced that every Xbox Live Gold subscriber will receive two free Xbox 360 games per month until the release of Xbox One, starting with a pair of popular titles: “Halo 3” and “Assassin’s Creed II.” And to celebrate E3 in the month of June, Xbox Live Gold members will receive a free download of “Fable III.”
-
It's not a la carte?
:piss
-
Hah it's a lame marketing tactic. Hay guyz buy gold again plz, oh and now that you already have gold again might as well get an xbone amirite?
-
It's basically a 360 Ambassador program, for titles from 4 years ago. LOL
Oh well...
-
So they're just gonna give 6 or 8 ass old games away?
-
From the sounds of it. Like a going away present.
-
So games most people have or have played already?
-
More like XBL-
Pretty pathetic compared to Sony's + service.
-
They need 'better' games on offer. All the ones they mentioned I have and I imagine most 360 players already have.
PSN+ games are usually either junk I don't want to play or games I beat ages ago but they are fairly newish comparatively
-
I 1000'd AC2, and played exactly as much of Halo 3 as I wanted to; unless there are more compelling games, or ones I haven't already utterly finished, I'm left flat.
Then again, I've been subscribed to Gold consistently for years, so I'm unlikely to let it lapse.
-
Oh. Pass.
-
:snoop i never played halo 3 so i bought it like a month ago. whatever, ive got gold til the end of the year so lets hope they throw some worthwhile shit on there.
-
pretty sure this is aimed at retention until the new device is released (XBL subscribers would be more inclined to early adopt) rather than any real play at attracting new customers. Those games are so old they are from when we all thought Obama would change history.
-
Hm, sounds pretty okay to me. I'm sure there will be a few games I haven't played yet because I suck at keeping up with games these days. If they toss Dead Space 2 on there I'll definitely partake.

That'd be great. And a nice send-off for everyone that's going to leave them next gen.
I never bought Halo 3 so I'll download it anyway.
