When I saw NEW I thought a new game had been announced or something, I guess it's a new title but still a remake!

I bought the JP version of this in the small case that Atlus JPN would go out of business and never do a 2nd shipment and it'd be worth $$$.  That didn't happen so I opened it and played a little this weekend.  Then I sort of regretted buying it because I still haven't played EO2/3/4 and this just feels even more of the same since it's a re-run of the one I actually did play most of (EO1).  The new "story mode" seems disappointing.  I thought they were going to remake EO1 in SMTIV style and make it super story-heavy with defined characters and plot.  I guess it sort of does it a little, but the main guy has no voice/dialogue, is a generic guy you can name (yeah I get SMT is like this too) and everyone is just kind of "hey, what's up.  Go map the dungeon floor".  But now there's generic anime cutscenes :uguu

I think I'd rather play EO4 if I play another one of them at some point.
