His phone comparison is absolute shit too.you can even play games on your phone when you're 30,000 feet in the air and have neither 3g or wifi.
What happens when I dont have internet available, or disable my 3G/4G connection. I CAN STILL CALL PEOPLE WITH MY PHONE
I can't even fucking play videogames on my VIDEO GAME CONSOLE when I have no internet.
What in the flying fuck.
Even if it wasn't "double-talk" it was stupid to recommend the 360 over the next X-box. I mean where are you going to go "oh, yeah our shiny new thing is great... but not for you?"I have a feeling we will see some 'xbox entertainment family' npds in the future.
this is why you guys shouldn't renew xbl gold.

So we should be happy with a system you have seemingly abandoned as well? There is a new Xbox 360
At least Sony has some actual games still coming to the PS3.
Have we got any MS reaction to Sony's price and DRM announcements?
Every generation, one company tells the poors to fuck off.And then Company was a poor. :'(
So Gametrailers took this video down - and now MS/Viacomm are trying to remove it from youtube? WTF is going on?
Stop talking, MS.
One other area where Sony won points was its pricing. At £349, the PlayStation 4 is £80 cheaper than the Xbox One's RRP of £429. It's not an insignificant amount of money, but Harrison is confident that the Xbox One will justify the extra. "We feel great about the value of Xbox One," he says. "It's a unique architecture, with Kinect and the power of the cloud. What we showed yesterday was the most incredible games lineup in any first few months of a platform launch, many of which are exclusive and all of which have advantages being on Xbox One. That's what's really going to drive value. We couldn't be happier with the price we're starting at."
In those few occasions you don't have access to your usual broadband connection, you could tether your Xbox to your mobile phone. The 24-hour ping takes kilobytes of data.
Have we got any MS reaction to Sony's price and DRM announcements?
Curbstomping victims generally aren't able to speak too well

Still probably gonna sell "okay" here in the US, I was listening to the radio yesterday and during the newsbumps Xbone One and Smartglass got mentioned a bunch of times, no mention of always online or DRM, and not a single PS4 mention :-\

Perhaps the most worrying statement to be found in the Xbox One disclaimer, surrounds consumer rights after the mandatory Terms Of Use has been signed upon switching on your new console.
"You must accept Xbox Terms of Use (including Xbox software terms and game license terms), Microsoft Services Agreement, and Xbox One 1-year limited warranty. Some games have additional license terms."
"Terms include binding arbitration with class action waiver to resolve disputes."
While it is likely to only be a defensive maneuver on the part of Microsoft, it does mean that you are restricted from taking out a class action lawsuit against the company should you find dissatisfaction with the services provided.
With Microsoft requiring the console to "phone home" every 24 hours to keep the system active, this would protect the company in the event of the Xbox Live servers going offline - rendering your console inactive - or if a network hacking scandal arose like we saw with the Sony PSN in 2011, where the network was down for an entire month.
No, binding arbitration is pretty standard stuff. It's the reason no one could sue carnival when they got stuck on that dead cruise ship for a week.QuotePerhaps the most worrying statement to be found in the Xbox One disclaimer, surrounds consumer rights after the mandatory Terms Of Use has been signed upon switching on your new console.

What I don't get is why didn't they announce this all two months ago. It has completely overshadowed their games and that can't have been unexpected.

Lee: call me Lee
Lee: I wanna ask something about Xbox One region specification.
Sandra: Oh his there Lee. How are you today?
Sandra: And yes, go ahead please.
Lee: Microsoft has posted the distribution region here http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/p...one/disclaimer and i wanna know can i import the console and games from US and play it in Hong Kong
Sandra: Definitely you can Lee. What xbox one require is just an internet connection that is available 24/7. That means that you just have to have an internet connection of your own. Just like the previous consoles, there are countries that they are not officially sold but the console still works there.
Lee: So,my case is-Xbox One console:US,game:US region,account:US XBOX LIVE account,where i located:Hong Kong
Lee: And Microsoft won't block my ip,right?
Sandra: No not at all since Live and Gold services are both available in Hong Kong. Just like the older consoles Lee, it is not officially sold or distributed to a lot of countries because of the numbers of users that are few but the console still works as long as Live service is available to that country.
Lee: So the Xbox Live service for Xbox One will just like Xbox 360
Sandra: That is right. Only the platform changes but everything pretty much is the same.
Lee: Ok,thanks for your help
Lee: No more question from me,so bye and have a nice day :)
Sandra: Alright then. See you on Live soon Lee. You take care, okay?

Kind of ironic that "always online" devices like smartphones let you play your games offline without connection checks. I can get an iPod Touch, load it up with games, and play offline as long as I want.B-but it's just like Steam, you guys!

Gamers doing MS job.
Further commenting on criticism of its new Xbox One policies, Mehdi said: "I think it's fair to say there's a segment of consumers at this show in particular who really pay attention, who are very passionate about all aspects of gaming, and that we listen to closely. In a broader set of community, people don't pay attention to a lot of the details. We've seen it in the research, we've seen it in a lot of the data points.

If it's real it doesn't make sense to me. "happy about the *new* price"? Who would be? And given that, why would they know the old one?
We wanted to set our definitive policy in black and white terms on Xbox Wire, which we did last week. That's our policy
Only way Xbone policy can still be successful is if major publishers also get behind it and withdraw titles from PS4 until Sony does the same with DRM

The audio is real, but it's hard to tell for sure what he actually says. We need CSI-Internet to amplify and enhance the audio.
In a sense they already are with how every game at E3 fuses single and multiplayer. An always online connection is the optimal, or only, way to play these games. That's more the death of traditional single player than DRM, but it could effectively mean what it meant for Diablo 3.Not just connection, subscription.
But I do agree with Bob that the mass exodus at E3, in spirit, was a big "back the fuck off" to these policies for the time being. Whatever happens, this week you had EA saying that online passes weren't worth the damaged reputation they brought. Yeah, OK, EA.

“With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection. Although we’re very excited about Xbox One, we remain dedicated to Xbox 360 now and for years to come. In fact, we are expecting some of the greatest blockbusters of 2013 and 2014 to come out on Xbox 360 such as ‘Grand Theft Auto V,’ ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts,’ ‘Madden NFL 25’ and ‘FIFA 14.’”

Yes they would, see gcn.I liked gcn. :fbm Placed second worldwide but third in the ussa if memory serves.

Nah. Third in USA, third worldwide. But hey, it got 2nd place in Japan!
Yes. Plus, it had a better library than the Xbox. People forget the Xbox was Halo and then multiplatform titles.
I'd take GC/PS2 over Xbox/PS2 though. In terms of exclusives GC wins.
I just tried to make lists to prove Arvie wrong, but I decided both systems had a ton of pretty awesome exclusives, half of which I'd forgotten about, so I guess I'll just conclude that unlike this gen, owning all three systems last gen was the smart play.
