"The whole entire waiter staff was middle-aged black men, and they had on beautiful white jackets with a black bow tie.
I mean, it was really impressive. That restaurant represented a certain era in America…after the Civil War, during the Civil War, before the Civil War…It was not only black men, it was black women…I would say they were slaves."
The filer of the lawsuit, Lisa Jackson (the former general manager of a Savannah restaurant owned by Deen and her brother) claimed last year that the chef specifically expressed her desire for bevy of tap dancing "little n***ers" to send her brother off to married life with Southern flair.
“It’s just what they are — they’re jokes…most jokes are about Jewish people, rednecks, black folks…I can’t determine what offends another person.”

Is black twitter a hashtag, or just black people on twitter? Most of my twitter stuff is political, business, movies, and music based.Black people on twitter. Usually the more ignorant or hood (wannabe) ones. Especially the ones from the niketalk forums.
:PP
A representative for Deen told the Associated Press, “She was born 60 years ago when America’s South had schools that were segregated, different bathrooms, different restaurants and Americans rode in different parts of the bus. This is not today.”
My mom is upset Deen got fired, and is taking her side :dead
Personally I don't care either way. I found her comment more funny than offensive tbh, and it was 30 years ago...but still, I understand why Wal Mart/Food Network wouldn't want to be associated with that image.
I'm far more annoyed by Deen's "how come they say the n-word and don't get in trouble" defense. You don't see non-Polish people calling Polish people "polacks" nor can most straight people get away with calling a gay person a "cigarillo." I'm tired of people pretending like black people are the only people to turn a derogatory name into a term of endearment.
And now people on the bore :patelI'm far more annoyed by Deen's "how come they say the n-word and don't get in trouble" defense. You are wrong, sir. "Pollacks" is not even the strongest slur that Polish people fling at each other. The worst one is "Polactwo" which is a hybrid between words "Poles" and "worms". "Polactwo" means the worst, it puts polish people on the same level as worms and other bugs.
And yes it is used only in Poland by other polish people.
It's a shame the way she's handling this. White people haven't had a really good role model since Ty Cobb.
Interracial?
