Title: Magrunner: Dark Pulse (Portal + Cthulhu)
Post by: fistfulofmetal on June 26, 2013, 07:32:04 PM
so I haven't played this game yet.

There's a Giantbomb QL:

haven't watched it...

But I did just watch Brad play it on their live show. and apparently there's a twist involved here that seems to be about Cthulhu-esque concepts.

The game itself is basically portal but instead of shooting portals, you're shooting magnetic poles. Certain objects can be given a magnetic polarity and you use this to solve puzzles etc etc.

Now that's fine and can be a cool little game but on it's own, not really much special. But the Cthulhu stuff seems cool.

So i dunno. I'll play it maybe later.

looks cool. Reminds me of the other portal-like color switching game, QUBE I think it was called?

Non-euclidean magnetics.

I played this for a half hour

and sure enough. it's portal.

it's portal with a much more forward facing story.

the magnetic field effect is pretty cool.

no cthulu stuff in the first half hour tho.

Wait is this a thing because that's kind of cool.

So I wasn't clear if this game traded in Cthulhu like elements or was literally about Cthulhu.

This answered my question
