Title: Are there any reasons NOT to pirate Xenoblade Chronicles?
Post by: Shaka Khan on June 27, 2013, 11:14:42 AM
Seriously, fuck Nintendo, fuck Gamestop, fuck gamers, fuck fuck fuck!

The prices of this game are fucking crazy. If I had a regular Wii I'd mod it and pirate this thing in a heartbeat. I don't wanna own it, preserve it, sell it or what have you- I just wanna play it. I'd even pay $40 then give it fucking back!

Help me play this game, brehs. :'(

Download it and play it with Dolphin, no reason to support the distinguished mentally-challenged "rare games" culture.

Where's that pic of Shaka flaunting his Last Of Us ($60) and Nintendo DS Castlevania games ($20+) and assorted purchases?

Why the facade?

Unless you're broke right now, can't you just buy the game and sell it again? Who knows, might actually increase in price. Or just pirate it on Dolphin...

I actually made enough calls back in January to find it new at a GameStop for $50 bucks. One good thing about GS is they don't jack the prices up just because something is rare. If you can find it at GS it will be regular price.

BTW I have two copies. One NA and one EU.

BTW I'm keeping them.

I have money in the bank, doesn't mean I'm willing pay a greasy faced Ninthing $140 over MSRP for a used last gen title.

You're just as willing to pay $60 for a greasy last gen movie experience.

That's what I've been doing for a few months; calling/stopping at gamestops randomly and checking their website for any used games within my radius. Last week I got a hit, 88 miles away and $69.99. If I had less self-respect I would have driven. But honestly, I'm just gonna continue looking for a fair price, and if I don't find one I'm borrowing a Wii and pirating this motherfucker. I will not overpay any shittheads for this. Either I pay the regular price or nobody is getting my money. :maf Fucking mouthbreathers.

Maybe if you had real friends (with superior taste in men), like yours truly and Lucretius, we would generously lend you our videogames. But you seem to have allied yourself with poors who advocate thievery.

I paid $90 for a sealed copy on fleaBay a couple of months ago, better investment than Last of Us + Season Pass for $80.

I just really despise the whole ordeal this game had to go through. At the end, and by looking at the low number of people who actually hold genuine copies in their hands, I'm wondering if it was well worth it (for Nintendo). I mean, it sounds like it netted them a decent profit, but just take a look at how much people are willing to pay for it, and calculate that opportunity cost. A simple, almost risk free solution would be to offer it digitally, but it would take them another generation to make such a move.

Sour grapes, next time you see a good game on the horizon, buy it. Especially on a Nintendo platform.

Lesson learned, bro. I really should have bought it then and there. That's exactly why I'm holding onto my SMTIV preorder.

What's so sad about the availability of Xenoblade isn't just that it's so rare. What's sad is that it's rare and really is one of the best games ever made. I love this game so much.

Eventually, I'mma gonna pirate the shit out of Disaster: Day of Crisis, because a Time Crisis-rip off where you punch a bear just wasn't awesome enough for America.

Fire Emblem? Sure, I enjoyed it. Dont expeect a price drop, like most if not all Nintendo games.

SMT4? Absolutely, with the first print run.

But with recent Atlus news, its up in the air on what's going on with that game and Etrian Odyssey Millenium Girl.

there's no reason to pirate Xenoblade Chronicles

because there's no reason to play Xenoblade Chronicles

even upscaled, it's last-gen trash with britaboo VO and single-player MMO mechanics

This is why I love every game getting a digital release.  No more buying weeaboo games just to secure them.

But I only played like 10 hours of Xenoblade until I got bored  :(.  I understand why some people are really into it but it, like most jrpg these days, can't keep my interest.  I think the sidequests are what bored me out.

Eventually, I'mma gonna pirate the shit out of Disaster: Day of Crisis, because a Time Crisis-rip off where you punch a bear just wasn't awesome enough for America.

I imported that one.  The lightgun shooting segments aren't pretty crummy, but all in all, the entire game is admiring Michael Bay's body of work, so there's something to appreciate there.

Is the Euro version expensive? You could import that.

But yeah you should play it anyway you can. It's an amazing game.

Edit-Shit I can't read. Yeah, just pirate it.

yeah its totally worth it to drop $100+ on a copy just to say you payed money for it. i mean, none of that goes to the devs, the producers, whatever; its all just going to some dick who bought a copy he never played just so he could sell it to you. giving him the money will allow him to buy some sweet tf2 hats and a few months of highspeed internet, and thats great. its very generous of you.

What do you mean Regular Wii? The revision (not the NES-looking one) doesn't have the ability to be softmodded?

I have a softmodded one but I haven't ever looked into getting pirated DVD's to run on it. I should for Xenoblade since my PC can't handle running Dolphin for it.  :'(

You misunderstand: I have one. I'm just saying there's no reason to get any of the other ones besides that one if you were in the market for the Wii simply because the Homebrew/Softmods help the console more than they hurt.

Grabbed a "Like New" copy from eBay for $50 (free shipping). Knowing my terrible luck, Nintendo will press and release a second shipment before my copy arrives, but for now: I'm content.
