In the world I want to live in the doctor would have never used the term especially in the context of the South where such shit goes on all the time. So we can all play the in my imaginary world game things would be perfect.

I can tell this upsets you, whereas I have only a passing interest in the matter as a source of momentary relief from tedium. This case is geographically and socially far removed from my station, so if I upset you I apologize. No you don't have to. What I'm trying to explain is why its wrong and why a person could conceivably be very upset by such a thing. As a black person one of the more tiresome aspects of life is dealing with people who automatically assume they can predict a lot of things based around your skin color. As one isolated incident it's fairly meaningless. It's one doctor trying to be funny and failing. Not a big deal in the grand scale of life. Just annoying when you deal with it in many small subtle ways everyday.
