Looks so good damn, especially the boat stuff.

:zzz
I was burned by ACIII. Not trying this unless enough people say that it's a much better game this time around.
-
I want to be excited for pirate AC but AC3 killed any enthusiasm I had for the franchise.
-
3s cutscenes were well done and thats about it for that pos boring game
-
Someone on gaf said it right when they said Ubisoft's games demo really well in 15 min segments. Then you play the full game and it's repeating those 15 mins over and over for 30 hours
After AC3, not touching this unless user impressions are amazing in the end. So sick of yearly collectible hunting and broken stealth.
-
ok Ill admit I haven't played 3.
My experience with the series is a few hours into 1, getting bored, then a few hours into 2.
-
I got up to the part where you finally get to play as the main character, and I'm already pretty much bored with it.
-
2 was the only one I thought was a good game and even that one had significant flaws. I'll only buy one of these at ultra budget prices anymore.
-
I'd like AC3 a little more if there wasn't a bijillion stupid collectibles & optional missions (all the investigation missions ughhh) that my OCD completion attitude makes me spend 40 hours getting for no point at all other than to clear up the map. Makes the game drag on and on and on. I'm 20 hours in and only about 50% completion.
My brother doesn't give a shit about collectibles, optional missions, achievements, optional objectives in games and just blew through the game in like 10 hours and thought it was ok.
-
Yeah, I'm out. Especially since the naval combat in 3 was so horrible.
Doesnt even make sense in the story, so I'll just read it online.
-
The third one was just such a mess of a game. They took any idea they remotely had and just threw it in the game without really trying to make it fit or have it well designed.
-
The first 6 hours where you play as haythum are pretty well done and cool. honestly if they packaged that as the game and have the big twist at the end be you were forming the templars the game would've been A+.
-
Seems I dodged a bullet there with 3 and the series in general.
Kind of reluctant to pick up Watch Dogs now!
-
I really want to support a game with pirates. But it's Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed. :fbm Game wise, I think ubi has it the worst out of the big three. At least EA has good sports games and the sims, and Acti has stuff like Destiny which looks cool. Ubisoft though? :gurl
-
I stopped playing after 2. Can't keep up anymore.
-
The only ubi franchises I ever cared for were PoP, Rayman, and in a smaller case, Splinter Cell.
-
Rayman is amazing.
The Division looks great too.

Probably a good idea! :lol

I'm kind of bummed that Ubi ruined AC. I really liked the Prince of Persia games, so when AC killed them it kind of sucked, especially since AC1 was lol, but then AC2 & Brotherhood were great and things were good again. Revelations was half-assed, but it was an unneeded milking spinoff made in a year, so it sort of made sense that it'd be iffy. But then AC3 sucked and this looks like more of AC3...bleh.
I liked the Ubisoft of about 5 years ago that was experimenting with new game concepts. Now it's all soulless milk & destroy franchises to death just like what happened with EA over the last five years. I mean EA had Mirror's Edge, Burnout Paradise, Dead Space, Mass Effect, Dragon Age and now it's watered down worse versions like Dead Space 3, NFS MW, ME3, DA2. Ubi & EA totally had good things going and now they just make bland marketing machine products.
I would put Activision, but I don't even know what they make anymore besides Call of Duty (which is self-explanatory) and the occasional Spiderman game.
-
this looks fucking sweet and i hate ASSCREED games
-
Someone on gaf said it right when they said Ubisoft's games demo really well in 15 min segments.
But when they did a 15 minute demo at E3, the game lagged and crashed! :lol
-
AC1 was boring after a couple hours. So repetitive.
AC2 was very good. I would love to read a detailed breakdown of how it evolved from the original, as it feels so similar, but is actually fun!
I bought Brotherhood on Bore heat alone, and am looking forward to it; unless this Black Flag is stupendous, Brotherhood will be the last one I play.

I'm a completionist and a fan of this series so I'm struggling to get through ACIII. I could tell that Ubi tried really hard to pull off an epic game, but every idea they had just fell flat. The plot is stupid, Connor is stupid, the game is fucking boring, the almanac pages are useless and can be annoying to get. Just a total failure of a game. This one looks really cool, but the AC gameplay really doesn't mesh well with huge overworlds or epic stories. Just give me really nice looking cities and I'll be happy.

I liked brotherhood. Felt like there was a lot of fluff though, but I still got to assassinate fools with relative frequency. The fortifications with commanders and the stealth caves were nice side things. Tried playing revelations and it was just a mess. Did some horse carriage racing or whatever and a tower defense thing before becoming too bored with it and putting it down.
This game looks like it's purposefully leaning into the fluff stuff so I can only assume the assassin part of the series is now just a footnote.
