I don't really know rock music but I'm pretty sure that is "Dirrty" by Celine Dion.

What is the song?!?!
-
Mother fucker that is not Radiohead.
-
Sounds too good to be Radiohead. Not enough whining despite Himuro's best efforts.
-
Yeah the chorus is shit in this song. I couldn't do it justice.
-
Now I'm listening to Godsmack, still remember the lyrics to several songs :rock
-
I remember the song was often played a long with

Is this a quiz (you know the answer) or you're trying to remember?
It sounds like a Disturbed song or a Godsmack song but the tune does not entirely match up.
Trying to find it. I'll search for Disturbed songs. It's not Godsmack.
-
seriously tho is there any worse music out there than late 90s - early 00s rock? i think id sooner listen to sad country songs than that shit.
-
I listened to enough shitty rock when I was 13 that I figured I'd be able to guess it for sure.
Nope. Sorry dude, you're on your own.
Also Seeing Red is great, completely forgot about that song.

Agreed. As a rocker that period was awful for all of us. We had to deal with fair weather fuckers telling us that the classics are inferior to them and the actual good stuff got ignored for the new Nickelback and Disturbed.
I love how everybody who loved that shit is now ashamed to admit to listening to it like it's the Backstreet Boys while rock bounced back with awesomeness. Very fitting end to all that crap. To be fair, the late 90's till like the mid 00's was terrible all around unless you went underground. Thank god for the Internet.
To be fair, mainstream rock did have good songs now and then.

You know a song sucks when a gimmick cover is better than the original.
-
This song still kicks ass! :rock
-
Jay, you edited your post so I didn't see it. :D
-
Loved both Disturbed and Godsmack. Still do, I think. Disturbed is great live.

SERIOUSLY. i have a huge gap in popular culture knowledge from back then because i didnt touch the radio for YEARS. dont really regret it.
-
does anyone remember the System of a Down fan phaggot parade?
god those people were unbearable :lol
Beezy :lol
I like SoaD but :lol
-
I always and still feel that down with the sickness was directly influenced by:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5A1QElOkOg
-
A lot of bad music was influenced by bad shitty post-Arise Sepultura, actually a lot of the 90s metal gods. Albums like The Black Album and Roots were responsible for some of the gayest fucking 90s rock like Creed, Nickleback, SOAD, all of that shit. And some of the death metal sellouts like At the Gates would later be responsible for some of the phaggotry of all the white belt metalcore out there.
Scust
This is blatantly wrong, for every terrible song in the world there is a 99% chance the blame can be put on a canadian

dear lord
When the early 90s rck fell way to this stuff is when I bailed out to electronic and only came back briefly for "the the bands" period. Of course, then the 80s infatuation came into play and rock was never to be seen or heard from again.
-
The Mars Volta are fucking amazing.
-
I'm awesome. I'm real. Deal with it.
-
You know early 2000's rock was shit when it made The Killers, Jet and Modest Mouse sound like a breath of fresh air in 2004.
bingo
-
How can a thread be so wrong.
Pantera is metal perfection, at least Cowboys from Hell->Vulgar Display of Power->Far Beyond Driven. The Black Album is great. SoaD is great. Load is still shit, even when you're old enough to look past the "it's not real Metallica" argument. There's like three good songs on that thing.
As for Sepultura, it's fun to see how good they still are after all those line up changes.

Thoughts on The Vines and The Strokes plz

Pantera is for bottom feeding, barnacle ass redneck idiots that butt bong whiskey and die at age 53 from a lifetime or blasting meth and chronic COPD.
Whatever, I've left all that fake ass try hard shit behind and exclusively listen to Manowar now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWkDoW3lACA
Truest shit.
-
If someone badmouths The Strokes
they're dead
-
Manowar is pretty trve, but it's also extremely gay. If you were to ask me whether Manowar fandom was more homoerotic than pro wrestling, I wouldn't be able to answer you. I get it; they're a combination of genre tropes like Venom was for early extreme metal. But the music is corny, and not compositionally interesting to me at all. Some power metal is okay though, Slough Feg is amazing for example.
Spoiler alert: i don't actually listen to Manowar.

Catchy though as forgettable as the spilt PBR on the floor at their shows.

This was such a great thread
-
Foo are great. Colour and the Shape is a classic album.

I like that this thread is a thing again, gives everyone the opportunity to learn how cretinous their fellow borean's musical tastes are :heart
