On the scene and ready to report!

They've got a setup here with the Omni walking pad, Oculus Rift, and some kind of gun controller. It's absolutely ridiculous, but also totally awesome. I'll try it if I can, but they're not letting regular people try it out right now.

Basically he said the two next-gen consoles are neck and neck power-wise, but he can't go into specifics because of NDAs. He said 3DS, Vita, and Wii U were interesting but not worth his time.
Also he said he was impressed that Andoid was't complete crap now. :andrex
-
He thinks this going to be the last traditional console cycle.
-
He said 30 fps should diaf and screen tearing is bullshit.
-
Devs spend a lot of time making games look really, really pretty, but animation in games is still crap.
-
He says developers won't waste time making furry characters.
:rejoice
-
He's pretty down on 4k, he said 1080p is really good enough and that latency improvement is more important. He likes 120hz.
-

:rejoice
Fur is too graphic intensive to bother with. Yiff in hell, furfags.

Played a little Elder Scrolls Online and...it's promising. Looks/feels a lot like Skyrim. It had that kind of intimacy to the environments that most MMOs feel like they don't have, think smaller more immediate environments as opposed to the large open fields. First-person view is in, as is snatching loot from random barrels and containers. Combat was action-oriented and included dodging and rolling and blocking. Graphics were nice, maybe a bit of a step down from Skyrim at higher displayed levels [it's still nearly a year away, though, so the graphics might improve between now and release]. Conversations with NPCs were all voiced and flowed exactly the same as NPC conversations in Skyrim.
So yeah, I'm cautiously optimistic that it'll feel like a single-player Bethesda RPG with other people running around.

So it has deeper combat than Skyrim?
-
Possibly, but it didn't feel quite as impactful or intuitive.

You are saying that like Skyrim is. :shaq

IF IT PLAYS LIKE A REAL BETHESDA RPG I AM WILLING TO HEAP SHAME UPON MYSELF, I DON'T CARE

I'm surprised they haven't just added multiplayer to traditional TES games. Just do it like GW1 where (some) towns are player hubs where you can trade, form parties, etc and everything else is solo play if you want.

NO
-
your fault for enjoying things that aren't rape-proof :yeshrug
-
The best thing about TES games is the game world.
The worst thing about TES games is the story, the fetch quests, the combat.
Making it an mmo will add real people and thus real stories to a cool world. So it will actually make TES better.

And there's this little thing called the modding community, which wouldn't be able to do anything if TES was as MMO.
-
they can just give all the female characters clean faces from the start in the mmo
problem solved
-
Evil Within gameplay demonstration about to start. :hyper
-
Oh brehs, RE4 + Silent Hill totes :whew
-
Evil Within looked totally bosstastic, The Master does it again.

What if they could create their own servers that would run their mods?
I'm sending my resume as I type this

The new Wolfenstein looks pretty good, definitely better than the last Wolfenstein game. Really good graphics and art direction, dual-weilding shotguns/rifles is pretty awesome.
-
I liked the last one! Any supernatural elements in this one, or is it all just mechsuits and high-tech?
-
Did they confirm Hitler being in it? I am boycotting until they reveal hitler and the mech he will be piloting.

I didn't see anything that looked overtly supernatural, but they didn't talk much about the story other than the basic setup and nothing in the two segments they showed off had anything like that. A lot of the retro-future tech and overall look reminds me a lot of Jinroh: The Wolf Brigade, a very dark and grimy and industrial atmosphere for most of it [though they did show off a section that was actually fairly bright and colorful].
And I enjoyed the previous Wolfenstein for what it was: a solid 7.0 shooter with a few neat gimmicks.

No mention was made, unfortunately. :'(

It takes place in the 60's, so it would make sense for Hilter to have a robot body.
-
Which they won't reveal, of course, because he's going to be the surprise final boss and it would be silly to spoil that.

ZIS TIME I VILL DEFEAT ZEE ALLIES
Protip: The defeat Lawnmower Hitler, shoot at him until he dies.

Okay, there's definitely something weird/supernatural in the new Wolfenstein, relating to the Nazi's advanced technology. In the demo at Quakecon you stumble across a research facility full of ancient, but advanced artifacts that appear to be Hebrew in nature. That's all I got so far.

Hitler was a Jew?
-
Or, you know, Hitler had his men scouring the globe for powerful artifacts...
-
RTCW was really awesome.
wolfenstein 2009 was a real turd though.
I hope for better this time.

But secretly he was a Jew. Why else would he know about those powerful artifacts? :-*

What they showed off, and what I played of the demo, was definitely better than Wolftenstein '09 [and I happened to think that game was a solid 7.0 shooter, fun at time but nothing really that memorable]. This is being made by a totally different developer, by the way, some of the same people who worked on the Riddick games at Starbreeze.

ET is one of the best multiplayer games of all time
Quake Wars was a disappointment :fbm
