Any one any clue as to why? Air coming out now is actually cold.
-
have you taken it apart and cleaned the fans
-
driver update? bios update?
-
I updated the NVidia drivers, but it did this once last week too. First a game crashed then the fans didn't want to go off until I rebooted.

I had this happen with my old dell laptop before I built myself a new pc. I think it just needs cleaned, or there's some setting that needs fixed. I got tons of responses from google about it, but nothing worked and I just gave up on it. That laptop was 6 years old though and a hand me down from my mom.

you've got an apple don't you?

driver update? bios update?
Why would you want to update bios?
-
In June I finally updated my drivers and all the games ran like shit. I googled it and it turns out the newer drives for the card are shit.
I couldn't roll back so I had to do a restore to the day before :beli

Sounds like your thermal grease on your cpu and/or gpu has dried out. They use crap stuff in laptops most of the time. Best bet is unfortunately to take apart the laptop and check heat pipe seating, thermal grease condition and fan connections. Have fun.
-
Fucking hell rusty.
How can anything dry out in Ireland.
-
what rusty thread. first thing i do when i get a non-custom gaming laptop is repaste the cpu and gpu with arctic silver.
-
I thought the first thing you do is put it up on sale on facebook :teehee
I'm not going to repaste my CPU man, ill screw it up.
-
If it's out of warranty you may as well. Finding all the screws is going to be more difficult than puttig new paste on, really.

Why would you want to update bios?

Look at it like this: if you spend the time to learn how do it now, however much of a hassle it is, you'll always know how to do it in the future. It's like building a PC, the first time takes forever and you're on edge about fucking it up - but the second time is a breeze.

But the thread you posted suggests for the most part to leave it alone.

Applying greases Jesus, this is like when you find out your environmentally-conscious girlfriend uses a diva cup.

My old HP DMZ1 laptop fans were loud till HP released a new bios for it.
My post there merely meant: did you install any recent driver lately? etc the usual tech shit.
-
It shouldn't be too hard to take apart your laptop. If you're worried, then take pictures as you go along to verify where everything belongs.
Applyting thermal paste to a non-overclocked cpu isn't hard. Hell, the stock Intel paste is applied like damn cream cheese. All you need is a thinnish layer.
