Also we could post our user names and play together and what not.

Double-dipped and ordered DC for PS3 and Vita since the game uses cross-save.
UPS has already fucked up and I have no idea where the Vita version is, but the PS3 version is supposed to come today. Was hoping to start playing this at work though. :'( #firstworldproblems

-
Magus, what's your PSN name?
i'm not on PSN since i have a CFW ps3 and i fear of getting banned and/or having firmware shennigan... but truth to be told i've been thinking of taking my ps3 online for this game, maybe i can catch the special magic that made MH3 so amazing on the wii

My g/f was asking me if I heard of that "controversial Japanese game" or something, lol. She's not even much of a gamer but apparently someone at her job was talking about it and she said "my b/f probably already has the game..."
Not yet, but I put it on my bday list.
-
So much for day 1 delivery. Garbage ass amazon. Gamestop >

Not yet, but I put it on my bday list.
:lol

UPS said it will be here by 7pm, but I'm going out so it's not like I'm losing play time or anything.

:lol
Well, my brother asked me what I wanted for my bday (about a week late, since he's really forgetful), and I mentioned that.
-
Heads up- narrator voice "DLC" (unlock key) is currently on PSN for free. Lets you switch to the player characters for narration if you'd prefer.

I actually got an Email from them about the delivery exception for the Vita version. Already put in for a return and made sure to mention that they better credit me back that four bucks for overnight shipping- what is the point in offering it with a guarantee if UPS can't come through? :P
Picked it up at Gamestop, which is fine since I have the art book with the PS3 pre-order. I think I like the Vita version better because it's much more convenient using the touch screen to find loot in the backgrounds and to direct your thief buddy to open chests/doors.

Ended up going to happy hour with my family and came back drunk enough to buy the ps3 version digitally. I'll regret it tomorrow when the vita version arrives. But whatev it's pretty fun so far
-
Damn I just do not give a flying fuck about the "controversy" of this game :yeshrug

yea I downloaded it just in case.

I can't wait to get this :'(

What's the "controversy" about? Uguu stuff?
a lot of the female character have big boobs and apparently it's the most sexist thing ever and it won't let you enjoy the game
-
What's the "controversy" about? Uguu stuff?
Tits and "sexist" portrayals of females in artwork. It's just more bullshit. All of the characters have hyper-exaggerated proportions, including the males. They have big "tits" too. :P

got to the final boss again, this time it only took me 7 hours... i think a big difference was made by the fact that i decided to do the multiple adventure in a row thing, the bonus experience you get is huge (i once went solo and on the third stage the bonus gave me triple exp) and if you clear some sidequest in the meanwhile you end up gaining like 3-4 level all at once
also this time i kept the bones around and that made a nice difference too, there is a sidequest that gives you 15.000 XP that requires you to resurrect 30 piles of bones so try to resurrect as little as possible so you can clear it as soon as the quest appear
oh apparently all of the extra artwork you get from clearing sidequest's has been released on the internet if you don't want to bother and just want to look at the pretty boobs pictures
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex133LSR6xE&feature=player_embedded
i didn't even know you could do this before the internet moral brigade pointed it out :lol

Art is here (http://saltysituations.tumblr.com/post/57587221257/dragons-crown-quest-art). Warning, :nsfw stuff in there.
-
I heard there were boobs in this game y/n
-
Very yes.

finished the game with the amazon, truth to be told when i started the game with the amazon i started the game whole from scratch because of save shennigan... now that i've started a third character on this save i discovered that everything you get on one character get shared with your other one,so your end game AI party member? they get shared too,i used them for the first level and the boss died in less than 10 second, that's pretty stupid
playing with the sorceress is also a pain, her normal attack deal shitty damage and instead you are supposed to use her spells (which she gets in exchange for the other classes desperation attack) but each spell consume MP and her MP pool is limited so you do a bunch of explosions and then you are forced to sit in a corner for a while as your MP go back up again... i assume the wizard is the same just with a different skill set
i should just take a peek at the dwarf and elf and then continue the game on hard with the amazon, the amazon DPS gets really amazing after you get some of the skills that make entering berserk state easier,i even soloed the final boss
-
Question from a noob. I don't really play 2d beat em ups, but this looks cool. I just want to know how hard the game is and how rpgish is it? Is it impossible to play solo?
-
i don't think it's hard at all as long as you keep your level close to the target level for the stage... you can also play together with AI companions, they can be dumb and sometimes they die pretty quickly but they get the job done most of the time
as far as rpg element go,you get skill points everytime you level up or solve a quest and then use those to improve some of your attack and/or skills and at the end of each level you get new equipment, each equipment has a level and if you aren't that level you can't equip it and you usualy end up getting equip that are either your level or 1-2 level above... some equipment comes with skills like "less damage from demonic foes" but otherwise that's it
-
Rahx, the game doesn't even offer multiplayer from the start. You have to play solo for a good bit until you can even play online.
Dragon's Crown is a beat-em-up, but the way everything is set up, it's kind of like a beat-em-up/dungeon crawler, with loot all over the place.
-
I finished my first playthrough earlier today (with the Amazon). Overall, I liked the game a lot more than I thought I would. I thought about cancelling my order a few times due to lack of interest, but I decided to keep it because of magus' enthusiasm. I'm glad I did.
The game is a little too heavy on the RPG elements for my liking, though. It would've been great if they managed to keep everything balanced between all of the loot, leveling, and skill trees, but it looks like high level characters can tear right through Inferno mode if their gear is strong enough. Or alternatively, they could've made an arcade mode that has predefined character strength, skills, equipment, and a linear series of stages - sort of like Hard Corps: Uprising. I think that would've been the best solution. I guess it's not that big of a deal though since the game's pretty fun as it is.
I also tried playing with some allies, but I kept losing track of my character and every battle just seemed like a big clusterfuck, so I went through most of the game solo.
-
Cool. I'll probably pick this up sometime soon.
-
games pretty fun when playing online with a bunch of randos. as long as that group doesn't suck
-
did all 50 sidequest and that bringed me from level 30 to around level 49,gonna focus on the labyrinth of chaos next...
...apparently if i understand things right as long you can do the second leg of the game on normal again, kill the boss on hard and it still count as finishing the game on hard, that's pretty fucking stupid
-
I did all of the quests except for the Owlbear one. Seriously, I've played this game for like 25 hours and I still haven't come across 10 of them while this quest has been active...
I think the score -> experience conversion bonus is the main reason to play on the higher difficulties (aside from it being more fun in general). I just played through 5 missions on Infernal and I went from level 60 to 69 because of the 200% conversion bonus at the end. :o
-
owlbear seems to appear right at the start of mage tower or sometimes at path B of lost wood, doing path B of lost wood is a good way to get both the owlbear AND the gladiator quest done all at once
-
just finished the main game on normal with sorceress at level 35. 18 hr ish. final couple bosses were a little difficult but a lot of that probably has to do with my character. grinded a little to get high lvl AI and it made the battles way easier.
pretty fun game. having played a beat em up in a long time and i've never been their biggest fan. but I'm considering playing more on higher difficulties or starting a new character which isn't something i normally do with games. no problems playing mostly on vita.
brb jo'ing to some boobs
