EZIC FOR LIFE. DOWN WITH ARSTOTZKA
decided to try this,it's nice... it starts pretty simple with you just checking ID's and refusing immigrant access but as the game progress the situation falls for the worse and more document and rules get added into the mix which in turns make your job harder, once in a while you are asked to take a moral decision... for example

- a couple enter the border, the husband has a passport but the wife doesn't,do you admit the wife anyway?
- a girl tells you one of the next people in line is a brothel owner and is forcing her to work for him,but he has a passport and nothing is wrong with him,do you refuse him entrance anyway and save the girl?
- once in a while you'll find someone whose name doesn't match, after checking his fingerprint if his fingerprint doesn't match you have the option to arrest him or let him go
your choice don't seems to make a lot of difference (so far i've been trying to stick to the rule and basicaly being patty from the simpsons) but apparently there are around 20 ending based on what you do and it's basicaly that "ah-ah!" feeling of finding discrepancies of phoenix wright meets the feel of power of being a public officer
each day is timed and the more people you get right the more money you get at the end of the day,the problem is that basic rent and food cost a lot so you can barely survive and you get lot of "your wife is cold and sick and hungry" message... alas so far nobody has died of dysentery
the game seems to avoid monotony to what sounds like an incredibly repetitive and boring concept by having an ongoing plot on the background and by adding something at the end of each day for example as i said at the start you only have to check if they are or not native... right now i have to

- check if the reason why an immigrant is going to stay matches with what the immigrant said
- check how long an immigrant is going to stay matches with what the immigrant said
- check if the photo matches
- check if the sex matches (you'll be surprised by the amount of androgynous people in this game)
- check if the name on the ID code matches with the name on the permit transit
- check if the ID code matches with the permit transit code
- check if the ID expired
- check if the permit transit expired
- check if the ID was released by a legitimate city
- if the immigrant comes for work, check if they have a work permit
- check if the work permit hasn't expired
- all people of a certain nationality must be searched
- oh and if they have something illegal point it out
Okay, Beta goes just until Day 8
yeah coincidentaly i've played up to day 8,not sure how many days there are before the end of the game
EDIT: oh apparently the whole game is 31 days, and there are actualy only 8 different ending while the remaining 12 are small variation... i think i hit the first big plot switch which was pretty amazing

some weird masked hood gave me a slip of paper with a bunch of random letters on it,later i got another piece of paper with a few hole on it,i combined the two and it spelled the name of someone who wasn't supposed to enter,i let him enter and now there has been a big terrorist attempt and some nazi general is on my tail :lol
helping the faction gave me a LOT of money but the game gave me the option to burn it away, which i did!
i get really angry at the game (and myself) when i start playing after a hiatus because i constantly miss stuff. then after about 10 minutes i manage to pull my shit together.
I'm about halfway through the game based on day count. Lots of interesting stuff happening. It continues to pile on the bureaucratic bullshit you have to check and one of the latter mechanics is pretty weird.

you mean shooting people that break-in? since there was never a tutorial it made me super nervous :lol

Yup. It purposely talks about things you can't see or test so I was worried I'd fuck up. Thankfully I nailed it.
Right now I'm sitting on a decent amount of savings

Unlike you I kept the money from Ezic which I used for 2 days until it was confiscated. But since I wasn't using my own money for those days I ended up with about 70 buffer. From there now I'm doing good with the various bribes and extra money I can earn. Plus even better, I was cleared of suspicion but the money was never returned to me.
I finished this, some spoilers on my endings inside:

There are 31 days. In the last few days, it becomes apparent that shit is rapidly going south for Arstotzka.
Jorji (the wacky old man who's constantly bringing forged documents) comes back and lets me know that, thanks to my kind-hearted lenience, he's living well as a smuggler. He puts me in touch with someone who can forge passports for me and my family to Orbristan. These cost $25 each AND they require an (illegally) confiscated Obristan passport to generate. So the last few days I'm stealing passports and doing my best to save enough money to get my family out.
I am able to get me, my wife and my son out. However, my uncle and mother-in-law are left to their own devices. Glory to Obristan!
This was ending 16 of 20.

did you get the password for endless mode? if you did post it
oh and does the game keep track of what ending have you got?
I'm near the end and the game has presented me with two potential endings based on things I need to do:
spoiler (click to show/hide)
The Inspector is gonna audit my work.
Jorji told me how to get fake passports so I can leave the country.
Endless Mode code:

Don't think it visibly tracks your endings anywhere, which is disappointing.
i don't really agree on the moral bit,a lot of the time breaking the rules and doing the right thing rewards you with a medal and sometimes even more money than you would have got if you followed the protocoll... there is very little repercussion, heck even one bad ending is got for sticking to the rules perfectly
...they should have added a special ending you get if you go through the whole game with a perfect record
Why do you think the

GOOD JOB, GLORY TO ARSTOTZKA" ending is a bad ending? You follow the rules, you get audited but nothing happens and you get to keep your job and join endless mode. Sounds fine to me.
Also I couldn't figure out how to trigger a denial for an expired polio vaccine. There's nothing in the rulebook that says VACCINATION PAPER MUST BE CURRENT. Only that entrant must have a valid vaccination paper. I inspecting that line and the vaccination paper as a whole, the date, the polio and nothing. Then I went to Docs in the rulebook and brought up vaccination paper and compared the outdated paper with everything on there and still nothing. So since I couldn't figure out a way to set off the denial I had to either approve him and get a penalty for expired vaccination paper or deny him and get a violation for not providing a denial reason.
Only thing that pissed me off in the game. Especially since that 5 credit penalty I got from it is the only thing that kept me from getting my class 5 apartment at the very end when I was 5 credits short! >_<
This had me stumped for a bit as well.
