Classic song. Classic album.

Eminem did NOT live up to his potential. There, I said it.
I remember hearing Not Afraid and I was just like smh. He still has the flow but his material is soft as baby wipes. I guess you can't be angry when you're 40.

I don't know what more you could want from the guy. He was THE rapper for the longest time.
Everyone falls off, but his opening stretch was incredible.

I'm going to an Eminem concert next week
:rejoice
I saw him once already in 2000.
His supporting acts were 50 cent, D12, Cypress Hill and Xzibit
Show of the century

As Eric P said, dude was number 1 for ages.

Kim is a better song

Stanning for Stan? :gurl :comeon

I agree with Eric P. He had a nice three album run (four if you count Infinite). Not many people do that now of days. I'm at least glad he's old enough to realize he doesn't need a goofy first single anymore. Although the cheese of Not Alone is pretty smelly.

This song and video blew my junior high school mind. Saw him with the family values tour (:lol) and it was awesome. He still has an occasional verse that blows it out of the water.

I only liked MMLP. SSLP was pretty decent but seemed kind of kitschy.
Eminem's older stuff was better because he needed to prove himself, being a CAC in a post-Vanilla Ice/Snow rap scene. He done anally prolapsed the game with MMLP, which then he rested on his laurels from TES on. Recovery was a decent effort but only because he cared just enough to undo the damage he did with Relapse. Like other rappers who retired (Jay-Z, DMX), he was better off staying retired.
I might give MMLP a listen this weekend.
-
SSLP is the only one that really holds up for me. From MMLP onwards, his music really started to become focused on the bullshit in his personal life instead of telling a story, although MMLP does have a lot of his best work.
his funny songs are the best ones. the super serious ones i like, too, but they're not as unique or fun to listen to.
stan is great, probably meets in the middle for both of his styles.

MM and SS LPs are fantastic, everything after is :holeup He still turns it on when he's guesting or has a guest on a track but most of the time he's on autopilot. Doesn't have that youthful energy or hunger no more cauee he's an old rich dude now. :yeshrug

Listened to SS and MM lp today. Classics.
-
Christ Eminem's flow it just bananastown.

MMLP would be a perfect hip hop album had it had some editing and was trimmed.

agree, hopefully he dies soon
But then Em fanboys would be even more unbearable :gurl

The funny thing is that I like about half of Bezerk. The chorus is catchy, the beat is dope, but that first verse is horrible.
