I never played Bowser's Inside Story, but previews for this one have got me interested.

I keep buying these games and getting sick of the rote gameplay and dialogue and tutorials after like 10 hours. The only one I liked was the original.

I haven't completed BiS yet, which is why I might skip this for now. But so far I'll slightly side with Viscen— barring BiS changes things up, the first game still feels like most fresh and enjoyable out of the thee games. The sequels tried to change too many things and were left feeling less adventure-RPGish. I consider them all solid games, though.

Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story were pretty decent

Partners in Time was trash

Partners in Time was my least favorite for sure.

Agreed.

BIS I remember enjoying for a while, then at some point got sick of it. Were the enemies really grindy or had lots of HP or something?

TRU has a deal where if you buy M&L you can get any guide/game/accessory @ $20 for only $1

I dropped BIS because it was too wordy and tutorialy, like even after ten hours it didn't feel like I had full control.  Don't recall anything being bad about the parts where you were allowed to play.

And what was the consensus on Paper Mario 3DS around here? I never got around to that one.

Sticker Star is terrible.  Avoid.

Partners in Time was a boring grindfest.  Since it was so easy to evade enemy attacks, it seems like they overcompensated by making enemies HP sinks.

Post up some impressions breh, thinking about picking this up today. Partners in Time was trash so I'm a little apprehensive.

I'm still really early, but the first thing I notice is how fluid the characters animate, especially the battle ones.

Graphics look nice, 3D isnt exactly winning me over. Maybe when I get some more attacks and such to dodge.

Gave this an hour or two today and yep, it's a Mario and Luigi game. Nothing wrong with that, it's definitely one of Nintendo's better series these days and I'm glad there's finally another. Dream World stuff seems pretty cool, graphics are nice, story is dull so far but whatever. Constant tutorials are a slight pain but more are skippable so whatever.

The demo seems aces, but I just got Fire Emblem. So I might as well wait to see the blowback before buying.

Finally got this yesterday and put about two hours into it.

The game is pretty good so far.  Yes, there's a lot of hand holding but the game seems to take some interesting enough twists in the gameplay so far.  The game is still easy enough to where you can avoid damage but we'll see where that goes.  The 3D effects are decent enough and the graphics are ok for a Mario and Luigi game but I've seen better on the 3DS.

I just did the first Giant Luigi battle (think the giant Bowser fights) -- and it's sooo much better than Bowser's Inside Story did it.

I'm about 7 hours in.  I'm going to try to see if I can beat this game before my vacation is over next Wednesday.
