Title: volvo pls (Ikaruga on Steam Greenlight)
Post by: archie4208 on October 04, 2013, 06:22:21 AM
Why does motherfucking IKARUGA have to go through Greenlight? (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=183195387)

when my steambox dies I am going to send a support email: "daed console, volvo pls fix"

On a more serious note, Valve is all about not playing favorites. Everyone gets to go through Greenlight if they are new. It's like the new guy always going out to get the beer.

I just figured that thread was about that Volvo game on the Xbox.  :yeshrug

But seriously though, it'll be fast-tracked through the Greenlight process. Kotaku will report on it, fanboys will nerd out over it, it'll shoot up the Top 100, and it'll probably be greenlit with the next batch of games.

Why does Ikaruga go though steam greenlight? What's next, Mega Man? Castlevania?

1)  Treasure is a new developer to Steam and Valve makes few exceptions (mostly big publishers).  After Ikaruga gets greenlit, and it will, they won't have any more problems publishing on Steam.
2)  Valve are idiots and Greenlight is a blight on the land.

You decide.

But both Book of Eschalons are already on Steam and the third has to be greenlit...

Is this a *new* PC version, or was there a Japanese PC release for Ikaruga?

It's a port of the XBLA version.

I thought maybe Volvo was making their own Yaris game, except that it was going to be about car safety.

Which wasn't bad outside of mirroring the entire game from the Gamecube/Dreamcast version.

If I can get that at higher res and native to PC, I'm all for it.

We will be waiting! Steam version of "Ikaruga", is the last currently being debugged.
And I think I can send it to everyone in the near future. Put the adjustment Xbox Live Arcade version (hereinafter, XBLA version) from the Steam version I have piled up further adjusted based on the NESiCAxLive version. In the port of many of "Ikaruga", definitive edition is this! It has developed with the aim of thing.

■ Support for various screen mode of PC games only

It was a response to the half HD XBLA version, the version NESiCAxLive but, Steam version corresponding to full HD.
The size of the score display, such as menu is also easy to see adjustable.

Of course, the vertical screen support (right rotation and left rotation support both).
Also be played as lateral shoe in addition to Portrait mode a normal game screen only rotate.

■ Xbox360 controller support

If the fitted in. Xbox360 controller of USB, you can play in the same sense home-use game machine.
 ■ Supports keyboard, mouse also

And because the PC game, also supports keyboard and mouse.
This better be easy to operate unexpectedly If you are familiar with PC games?
 ■ "double play" mode

Mode can play two-player game with one controller has been added.

 ■ "Replay" mode

XBLA version Similarly, replay can be saved.
You can also be downloaded from the ranking.
 ■ Support for various functions of Steam

Steam Achievements
Steam Cloud
(Friend ranking correspondence) Steam rankings
 ■ More ...

I think if modern PC, towards the operating environment to work without problem almost.
If those with good performance of the Intel (R) HD Graphics, etc., it is OK like in built-in graphics. ■ Windows 8/7 / Vista / XP CPU ■ Intel Core2 Duo of (Athron64 X2) or more at least 1 GB ■ main memory graphics board at least 256 MB of VRAM corresponding to ■ DirectX 9.0c sound device that supports ■ DirectX 9.0c

XBLA port with 1080p+ HD and two-play on one controller + keyboard support, basically.

Not bad. But still no date.

This is the really exciting news, though:

http://www.polygon.com/2014/1/29/5359372/ikaruga-dev-plans-more-ports-new-original-title-for-steam

They're going to keep porting stuff, AND want to create an original title for Steam.

Well golly, it would be nice to have that Radiant Silvergun and Guardian Heroes ports onto another platform.  Heck, Guardian Heroes could have its six-player local mode back.  That would be nifty-keen!

...I had Ikaruga on GC and still own it on 360 (because XBLA). Neither of which I have played for any serious amount of time.

Guess I'll buy it again?
