It's never a bad time for baklava. If there are any shops in your cities that sell the good stuff, post them here. Also, if anyone has a good recipe for making baklava at home, I'd be interested in that as well.
Edit: not for use in combat. Just to clarify.

That's what I read it as too :lol

I've got an old germanic cookbook that has a few recipes for baklava. I've never dared to make it though. Some of the listed ingredients are no longer used in traditional cooking. I do love me some baklava though.

There are a few Lebanese places that sell decent baklava here. The most amazing ones I've ever tasted though were straight from Turkey. They were divine. :aah
Just don't ask about the calories or what goes into making them— you'll have a heart attack then and there.

Fuck, I used to live across the street from a Greek matriarch who made baklava from scratch (and I mean from scratch, none of this pre-made phyllo dough faggotry). I've not had anything close :lawd

My Turkish friends hand-carried a tray of it back for me. God. Damn. Best I've ever had.

You're probably too late this year, but you need to hit up any local Greek (or other eastern European) festivals that most cities have. Usually you will find quite a number of vendors selling their version of it.
That reminds me that I haven't been to a Polish festival in about 10 years. I need to correct that.
