It was like this fucked up videogame web comic that I used to follow in 2007. One I remember very well was when one of them writes "Twilight Princess is an Okami rip off" and Aonuma reads it then hangs himself or something.

the link in the watermark appears to be dead
EDIT: I did some internet sleuthing and it appears the artist of the above comic still runs an active blog with an archive of his work (http://www.chickennation.com/comics/). Eegra seemed to host a number of parody comics from various artists, however, and you're welcome to find the rest yourself ;)

The comic doesn't even make any sense, why would Aonuma hang himself?
-
Yeah I don't get it. If okami is a to rip off why would aonuma kill himself? Shouldn't that be kamiya?
-
Maybe he is ashamed of his fans?

Maybe he is ashamed of his fans?
A valid reason.

Its a pretty straightforward joke, the characters "win the internet", Aonuma gets totally owned, hangs himself.
Since were doing internet content requests, does anyone have/know how to find:
- that SMT fans vs. Persona fans macro with John Cena in the Atlus t-shirt
- the master chief emote with the animated OG Xbox flag (I think it's from OA originally?)
-
But the joke is that Okami is a TP wannabe, not vice versa.
-
actually, vice versa. Okami was released before TP
-
We're talking about within the context of the comic, not in the context of release dates, also TP was announced/revealed in 2004. Okami isn't an TP wannabe and TP isn't an Okami wannabe; they play completely differently. However, in the comic, the entire joke hinges on the fact that apparently Okami is a rip off of Twilight Princess. If Okami is a rip off of Twilight Princess, that puts TP in a good position. If his joke won the internet, why does Aonuma kill himself?
-
anyways, the same guy did that pretty funny Portal/Cake webcomic. Someone post it

Exactly.
