Title: The Kindle Fire Mayday feature is the craziest thing I've ever seen
Post by: fistfulofmetal on November 05, 2013, 11:04:14 AM

So this feature essentially connects you to LIVE person ON A WEBCAM and you watch them as they assist you with problems.

As a person in the field of IT and customer support, this is the worst thing I've ever seen. If my company told me that tomorrow they were installing a camera on my desk and it was going to be live every time I assisted a customer I would quit my job the very same day.

I'm reminded of those adult webcam sites TBH... it seems... seedy.

what if you're, like, jacking off and hit that mayday button accidentally?

awkward

I could conceive of this happening quite regularly, only not by accident.

What is the problem exactly?

fistful is worried that he will no longer be able to hide his visible disgust when customers call.

It's the worst. Tech support is one of the most soul sucking jobs in existence. This just makes it THAT MUCH WORSE. I feel so sorry for those Amazon support reps.

If there is not yet a dress code at your workplace, Fistfull, now is the time to exploit that! How about some funny glasses or a false nose? Or a colorful wig? These are not expressly forbidden in the company guidelines, you're in like Flynn!

When she leaves work she's probably seen about 500 dicks especially with the inclusion of this new feature that will render fistful homeless.

I'd call up just so the tech person can see me hold down the shift button to capitalize words and scroll through pages without using the mouse wheel.
