Post by: benjipwns on November 06, 2013, 12:53:10 AM: The campaign is really good for a kart game mixing up the play types and such (and it's still got the regular GP mode for that kind of thing!), though I wish there were more Battle Races or whatever they're called.

Can look pretty good on PC all maxed out too. (Plus TF2 kart!)

And Hell Yeah's kinda fun too.

Anyways, I really don't care about lack of Ryo. I'm sure they're working on him for dlc, he's the most popular dlc character pick. I will get it for ps3 sometime down the line but don't feel the urge to get it because GTAV is such a rad racing game.

Quite the opposite for me. Don't mind the weapons, but hate the vehicles/different handling for all of them.

If I could just have a "kart-only" option, I'd buy it. But as it is? I passed, I can't get into the boat or plane gameplay and since those are 1/3rd of the levels... :-\

I don't like weapons either, but Transformed's are fairly balanced imo. Nothing is stupidly overpowered like a few of the items you see in MK for example, it's all just basic homing missles, green turtle shells, banana peels and boosts. The All Star item can be a game changer, but they mostly give that to people who are way behind, so it's not too bad. And aside from that, the racing itself is much more involved than any other kart racer I've played (even MKDS), so you can make up for a few weapon hits if you're drifting, doing tricks, boost chaining, using shortcuts, etc.

There's also a game mode where all of the item pickups are replaced with more boost pads, so it's perfect if you want a pure racing game. I'd bet that's the most popular mode for online multiplayer (I never looked).
