i plug in my pc to the tv this morning to stream some msnbc, and there's no sound. fine, whatever, i have issues with the pc not switching to hdmi audio all the time an fuck it i dont feel like dealing with it now. turn on my 360 this morning to watch some netflix, and there's the same damn problem - picture with no audio! i flip over to my regular tv channels hooked up thru bunny ears and the audio works fine. plug in my psp with component cable and the audio comes thru just fine. its just the hdmi signals that are giving me problems.
i have everything hooked up to a reciever and as far as i can tell there's no problem with it - like i said, i can get audio with regular tv channels, with component cables, and even with the radio. its just stuff hooked up with hdmi. i have two seperate hdmi cords and they're both giving me the same results. i even tried hooking them up to the third hdmi port i have and there is no difference. i also reenabled the tv's built in speakers with my 360 on and that's not giving me any audio either.
i'm worried this might be some internal problem with the tv, but i want you guys' input before i start freaking out.
thanks in advance

pee on it
(note i didn't read your actual issue)

buy a new tv

Sounds like your TV realized that you were trying to watch MSNBC on it and it reacted accordingly.
My recommendation: watch something better

I know you said you tried the third port but I don't know which device that refers to. Have you tried hooking up your stuff directly to the tv and leaving out the receiver? If that doesn't work try a factory reset for your tv.
-
yeah I hooked up the pc and the 360 directly to the tv via hdmi and could not get sound out of my receiver-connected speakers or the tv's built-in speakers.
I'll look up how to do a factory reset thx
-
she isnt but thank you for the daily reminder that you will never overcome your mental problems

Is the receiver connected to the TV through HDMI and do you get sound from your PC/360 when going through that? Probably not but it's worth trying.
If a factory reset doesn't work then you have to google your TVs model number and see if there are HDMI issues associated with it, then you get to argue to their customer support and explain your issue like so many others have. The fact that all HDMI ports are wonky gives me hope that it's probably a software issue.
