Title: Need for Speed Rivals
Post by: fistfulofmetal on November 17, 2013, 12:36:11 PM
needs to be a thread for this game (might already exist, whatevs)

This game is dope as fuck. It's Hot Pursuit with Burnout Paradise elements.

When you play you're always in a lobby of 6 players (3 cops, 3 racers) and everything you do can include them. So like, I started a Hot Pursuit mission and a few seconds after I started I saw an actual player drive up along side me and joined me in the event. Fucking cool as shit.

As a cop you can also interrupt racers in their events so like, I see a player racer in front of me and he seems to be in a race of some sorts. So I boost in and start wrecking them fools.

As a racer there aren't any dedicated Hot Pursuit events any more because EVERY event can turn into a Hot Pursuit. It's awesome!

This is def the best Need for Speed game since Hot Pursuit.

It's made by Ghost Games which is mostly Criterion and some Black Box

Never heard of Ghost Games but they must be tech geniuses

Well they are ex-Criterion who got 720p/60fps open world racing in Burnout Paradise.

But yeah, 30fps + visuals not advancing much since Hot Pursuit = 1080p possible on these systems.

Bought it and played the tutorial its cool like a mix of NFS underground and hot pursuit. The underground games were awesome wish they'd bring em back

Is there any multiplatform game that's not inferior on the Xbone right now?

PS4 for multiplatform is probably the safer bet for the near future.

Graphics aren't amazing but I was talking more about the fact that they got 1080P working on the Xbone.

It sounded like that wasn't going to happen anytime soon because of all the issues with Xbone's weird ESRAM frame buffer.

Or just wait to see if someone manages to remove the framerate limit

It's usually just a quick .ini edit
