Fucking android has jack shit on its store. It is a goddamn GHETTO. Android is the WII of smart phones.
-
i think you got it twisted... Windows Phone is clearly the Wii
-
No Android is. Wii is the super mega popular one that everyone has but has JACK SHIT. Windows Phone is Ouya.

-
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
It's got bejewled and tetris what more do you want?
-
You're the first person I've heard to have this problem.
:yeshrug
-
What do you need that isn't on the Play Store but is on iPhone?
-
I dunno. Everything. Tired of waiting six months to a year or never for most things. For example, the GTAV release. GTAV comes out without a manual so the guys make a digital manual on apple's app store on DAY ONE. Android has to wait two months for it to hit their store. And this is just a manual. Imagine all the apps, games, and other stuff I'm missing out on. I considered getting an ipad for Christmas because of it. I hate that I can't play Ace Attorney HD on my phone because I have, oh I don't know, the more popular phone os. Instead, I'll just switch back to the os that actually has crap. And sometimes, if something is available on Play Store, I can't dl it for SOME REASON.
-
It sucks because in terms of feature set and actual tech, I vastly prefer Android to iOS. But the store on Android is AWFUL. It used to not bother me much, and I'd shrug it off but the camel has just broken its back with whatever final straw it was that is compelling me to switch.
-
horrible example
-
I've had an iPhone for almost 5 years. For the love of god don't do it.
-
I don't evne remember the last time I used a system exclusive app on either my iphone or nexus. Apps are overrated. Hell the only ones I use are Spotify, and instacast on ipod and pocket cast on android.
-
not gonna lie, I tear up every time I see a sqeenix-exclusive ios game

You got it twisted...at least people bought the Wii.
-
I'm a little annoyed the Assassin's Creed 4 app isn't available for my old ass phone, but I guess it doesn't work anyway so fuck it.
I dunno. I use a twitter app, a podcast app, a music app, and that's about it. Otherwise I just use my phone for texting and calling and email. Games on phones are fucking distinguished mentally-challenged.
-
Himuro's complaining about the app store - the dearth of titles is a Windows Phone equivilant. There are plenty of cross-platform titles on iOS and Android. Especially Square-Enix......
-
I kind of wonder how important the "smart" aspects of smartphones are once you have a 7/8-inch tablet. I haven't bought one of those yet but I suspect once I do I won't feel any strong motivation to upgrade the $100-off-contract Lumia 520 I bought to replace my lost Nexus 4 ...

iPhone or iOS is a league of its own in terms of games and day one availability of popular apps.
But in terms of non gaming apps, Android and WP can cover pretty much most of your needs whether through official or third party apps. Android huge marketshare pretty much guarantees that you will get X app sooner or later. Gaming is a different beast due to how popular they are on iOS and the fragmentation of Android.
So yeah, if you care about mobile games then iOS is your best option.
-
Well yeah if you're going to be playing games on the thing rather get the better supported OS. Oscar was calling me a dirty, poor, begging peasant for wanting things on Android the other day. It cut me deep.
-
Why not just get a Vita?
:sabu
-
Eh, the Android store has everything I need. Google should obliterate like 98% of the apps on there for being spam or just plain sucking though.
-
We really shouldn't tolerate Himu's port begging.
-
Jeez, Himu switching teams again.
-
I think this could be an undocumented side effect of some medication that Himuro is on.
We may be witnessing an interesting case study here.

Himu won.

Jeez, Himu switching teams again.
I never want him on my dodge ball team, that's for sure.
-
Mmm. It is pretty hard for me to switch teams when android was my first smartphone. Before, I had an iPod touch tho.
-
anyone else still fux with Pantech? I don't need a fancy phone
:hitler
-
if you care about mobile games then grab an ipod or ipad and use your android for whatever else.

My Samsung got stolen and I had to replace it with a Pantech. It's okay.
-

Jeez, Himu switching teams again.

I don't think I can go back to iPhones unless they adopt some of Android's HW and SW features. I'm pretty much content with my Nexus 4, with only a few niggling issues marring the experience. Will probably switch to next year's Google flagship, provided the battery life and camera are vastly improved.
-
Can't upgrade till March 2014. Looking forward to it.
-
Think I'm gonna get a Moto G for my first smartphone. $30/mo t-mobile unlimited data and text weeee

I keep thinking about switching to the Nexus 5 but I just know that I'll miss the multitude of apps that I like dicking around with every week. I'm beginning to realize that in at least my facet of the tech/music industry, all the designers, marketing peeps, and company heads develop with an iOS first mentality, whereas actual developers and some of the more detail-oriented people in the biz tend to want to focus moreso on Android. The problem isn't with either party, its the fact that most companies aren't willing to meet halfway. The freedom and developer community is Android's bread and butter; the actual cultivation of new ideas and app breakthroughs are occurring much more frequently on iOS. I'm more passionate about the latter than the former, but I honestly wish it wasn't the case – I want every smartphone out there to be a viable and great option for consumers and not half to deal with the stupid system war shit that has plagued gaming and the PC market for decades.
But it'll never happen.

Damn :lol
I still stand by that though! Windows phones don't have any support from devs OR designers.
-
It's closing and even getting bigger than iOS in some markets in Europe.
-
Just wait until the EU forces them to sell the phone without a browser!
