Everything was swell up until about 10 years ago when creeping secularism and pressure from groups like the ACLU began attacking the Christmas holiday. They demanded the word Christmas be removed from advertising and public displays.
NAPIER: And what we have to do -- and you're doing a great job, Bill, of getting the information out to the American public -- Alliance Defending Freedom sent out 13,000 letters to school districts to tell the truth about Christmas. Armed with the truth, Christmas can come back in, and the bah humbug folks can go out.

O'REILLY: It's good to let people know that your organization will defend them gratis, pro bono, if they are harassed by these other people.
Homeowners in an Orange County, Calif. neighborhood have been ordered to remove their outdoor Christmas lights because the decorations are an obstruction and violate county code ordinances.
“It’s horrible what they are doing to us and these poor kids,” one homeowner told television station KTLA
As many as 20 homeowners in the Wagon Wheel subdivision received a letter from Orange County Public Works stating the lights must be removed by Wednesday.
For the past five years, neighbors have gone all-out for Christmas. Their outdoor display draws visitors from across the region. The lights literally connect each house – hence the code violation.
AFA is calling for a limited one-month boycott of Radio Shack over the company's censorship of the word "Christmas."
For years, Radio Shack has refused to use the word Christmas on its website, in television commercials, newspaper ads and in-store promotions, despite tens of thousands of consumer requests to recognize Christmas and in spite of repeated requests from AFA to do the same.
Want proof? Go to www.radioshack.com and type "Christmas" in the search bar. As of today, the website brings up zero results.
At Radio Shack, you'll find "holiday" deals, "holiday" kickoff, "holiday" cash and a "holiday" gift guide, but you won't find "Christmas" anywhere.
Radio Shack is censoring the word Christmas, pure and simple. Yet the company wants all the people who celebrate Christmas to do their shopping at its stores.
Until Radio Shack proves it recognizes Christmas by using it in their newspaper, radio and television advertising or in-store signage, the boycott will be promoted throughout this Christmas season.
AFA has successfully influenced almost all of the nation's largest retailers to embrace the use of Christmas in their advertising. But at Radio Shack, it's "Bah, Humbug!"

The real War on Christmas was fought and won ages ago, and the victor was mindless consumerism.
You'll a bunch of anti-consumerism insurgents. I have reported you to my local Walmart greeter and you have all been placed on the naughty list. Drones are on their way.

Palin said Jefferson would likely agree that secularists had set their sights on destroying the religious themes in Christmas celebrations.:bow Stand Your Ground :bow2
“He would recognize those who would want to try to ignore that Jesus is the reason for the season, those who would want to try to abort Christ from Christmas,” she said. “He would recognize that, for the most part, these are angry atheists armed with an attorney. They are not the majority of Americans.”
Palin said there was a double standard that protected atheists at the expense of the religious.
“Why is it they get to claim some offense taken when they see a plastic Jewish family on somebody’s lawn – a nativity scene, that’s basically what it is right?” she said. “Oh, they take such offense, though. They say that it physically even can hurt them and mentally it distresses them so they sue, right?”
“But heaven forbid we claim any type of offense when we say, ‘Wait, you’re stripping Jesus from the reason, as the reason for the season,’ but heaven forbid we claim any type of offense,” Palin said. “So that double standard, I think Thomas Jefferson would certainly recognize it and stand up and he wouldn’t let anybody tell him to sit down and shut up.”
She told the audience of students that the U.S. Constitution was written by and for moral and religious people, and that nonreligious people probably were incapable of appreciating its principles.
“If you lose that foundation, John Adams was implicitly warning us, then we will not follow our constitution, there will be no reason to follow our constitution because it is a moral and religious people who understand that there is something greater than self, we are to live selflessly, and we are to be held accountable by our creator, so that is what our constitution is based on, so those revisionists, those in the lamestream media, especially, who would want to ignore what our founders actually thought, felt and wrote about in our charters of liberty – well, that’s why I call them the lamestream media,” Palin said.
She seemed to imply that Jefferson, who spent his summers at a home not far from the present-day site of Liberty University, may have been inspired by the religious college founded in 1971 by televangelist Jerry Falwell.
“Thomas Jefferson and his thinking, I believe that much of it fundamentally came from this area, having spent his summers here, having spent influential years here, two miles away from Liberty University,” Palin said. “Man, there’s something in the water, perhaps, around here – again you are fortunate you get to taste it.”
and we are to be held accountable by our creator
“Just because it makes you feel uncomfortable doesn’t mean it has to change,” she said (unintentionally providing a sort of mantra for conservatism vis-à-vis race). “You know, I mean, Jesus was a white man, too. He was a historical figure; that’s a verifiable fact—as is Santa, I want you kids watching to know that—but my point is: How do you revise it, in the middle of the legacy of the story, and change Santa from white to black?”

A vicar has caused a festive furore after accidentally breaking the news to a group of primary school pupils that Father Christmas doesn't really exist.:gbcry
Parents at Charter primary school in the Wiltshire market town of Chippenham were left fielding some very awkward questions after Canon Simon Tatton-Brown explained how Santa was based on the legend of Saint Nicholas.
Some parents threatened to pull their children out of a Christmas concert at his church, St Andrew's, in protest, arguing that they would not barge into one of his services and announce that the story of Jesus was a fiction.
...
Linzi Merritt, whose son Levi, nine, attends the school, said: "We wouldn't just walk into the church during one of his services and tell everyone there that Jesus isn't real. He's a person of authority and it's not his place to be telling the children that.
"It's the older children who have suffered the most because their parents can't really talk their way out of it like the parents of younger children can.
"Loads of kids went home crying – it has ruined Christmas for them. It wasn't a nice story for children to hear, there were lots more he could have told. Not only has he spoiled Father Christmas for them, a lot of them are now questioning the existence of the tooth fairy as well."
Kerry Butler, whose nine-year-old daughter Kacey is a pupil, said: "All the parents here are very upset. I think it's a lot worse for the older children because a lot of them are on the cusp of not believing anymore and this could have pushed them over the edge."
But in this case, Miss Kelly is correct. Santa was a white person.
An Augusta hospital has adopted a new policy banning Christmas carolers from singing religious songs in public patient areas. Now our other war veterans have to suffer from Obama's War on Christmas.
The Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center announced the new policy Monday according to the Athens-Banner Herald.
“Military service veterans, male and female, represent people of all faiths,” hospital spokesman Brian Rothwell said in a statement according to Athens-Banner Herald. “It is out of respect for every faith that The Veterans Administration gives clear guidance on what ‘spiritual care’ is to be given and who is to give it.”
A group of high school students from Augusta’s Alleluia Community School were prevented from singing traditional holiday songs that honor and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ to veterans by the medical center last week.
The school principal, Dan Funsch, told the newspaper that he was disappointed that the Veterans Affairs hospital’s “spiritual care” grants holiday exemption only to secular characters that make up the 12 Days of Christmas.
“This is not a religious proselytizing, evangelistic issue,” Funsch explained, arguing that Christmas songs are broadcast during the holidays on area radio stations and in local retail outlets. “The song Joy to the World is as much a part of the holiday spirit as the Christmas tree.”
