I'm finding it a bit difficult to properly play Demon's Souls because of how subtly different the combat is from Dark Souls.

Borys, I'd argue against that. But that's because I like the broken magic system in DeS over the charge system in DaS.

Well, that and I hate that people can eat attacks in PvP with high-poise and smack my ass while I recover.  :lol

Demon's Souls is more consistent than Dark Souls definitely. Hoping Dark Souls II cuts down on the cheaper and badly designed levels that were scattered throughout the first.

This is one of those arguments where I ain't mad however the coin is flipped. I loved both games almost equally for slightly different reasons.

Which one is easier?

I prefer the free-roaming labyrinth style gameworld of Dark Souls over the level-based structure of Demon's Souls

I wish they would put in difficulty settings in this.

But by making the primary target a harder difficulty, there is no concern for them nerfing the game to cater to more lesser difficulties.

you can make the game easier through online/co-op.  phantom bros can help you through the game.

I think vanilla Dark Souls and Demon's Souls are pretty even, but Dark Souls wins if you add the content from PTDE. Manus, Artorias, and Kalameet > most of the bosses in both games

Didn't like Demon's Souls that much because much of the design was tedious and strategies depended far too often on patience.  There's something wrong with a game that requires you to ask people where to stand exactly so you can shoot 200 times at an enemy.

Dark Souls seems to have less of that BS but I only played it a little.

Im not talking a rebalacing of things, just give noobs like me more health and make enemies hit a bit less hard.

just numbers bro!

It's not like the Souls games are that hard.  They just require patience and not rushing in head first like a dummy.

honestly i've never had a problem with normal enemies, blocking their attack is easy and with the right weapon they die in 2 hits,it's the bullshit like the narrow passage in anor londo or stuff like this that infuriate me

when i heard that dark souls developer wanted to make the game more accessible i wanted to punch him in the face "really? are you the same guy who gave the okay when you decided making an enemy that instant-kill the player AND cut his health bar in half was a fair thing to do?"

Magus is sooooooooooooo casual. Considering all these obscure games you would consider him "hardc0re" but its just a ruse. Casual as fuuuuuark

I don't mind hard games like Super Meatboy where you don't lose so much progress when you die.

I started a new character in Dark Souls just now. Tried out Sorcery for the first time. It's immediately much easier since you can one-shot everything from distance and the AI doesn't really know what to do about it.

Got stuck at the Gargoyles since I'm so used to fighting them with a sword. May go back and see what other cool spells and shit I can do.

Going into the Tomb of Giants and getting pissed when you fall because you don't have a light spell or something to safely traverse it.

Yeah, Magus is casual as fuck.

I've never played dark souls but I agree 100%

because the first was a sony exclusive  :-*

but it sounds like they made dark souls invasions a little less douchey, which is no fun at all.
