I'm in desperate need to unwind with some Civ. But Steam won't connect to the internet. I never had this problem before and the internet is working perfectly. I'm not sure what to do and couldn't find anything dealing with the network issues on steam's website.
Help?

You're local Steam server could be down, try changing it under "Downloads" in the settings menu. Other than that, try closing out Steam and then restarting.
Sometimes it's just temporarily offline, though.

But seriously, I've had this too once and it could be anything, will solve itself probably.

Have you tried everyone's favorite all-purpose Steam fix yet, deleting the ClientRegistry.blob file?
-
Deleting ClientRegistry.blob has solved every single Steam issue I've ever had.
-
I have been getting connection errors lately, but it always worked on the second try. Not sure what the issue is.
-
Thats really weird, can you connect from your phone app through 3g?
-
Did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in? Did you try blowing into it? What about hitting it a few times?
-
Did you try pirating the game so you don't have to go trough bullshit DRM?
-
Restart the computer.

In the past few weeks I've not been able to get Mac Steam to connect properly the first time. Always have to close the program and try again. I'm sure you've already tried that of course, but you aren't alone when it comes to Mac Steam connection bullshit.

ya, mac steam is butt.
