Whatcha say, bitches? I feel like I've had this discussion before, and the consensus seemed to be "one had good combat, the other had a good story" but I can never remember which. Xillia supposedly has a "combat butler" tho.
-
Graces F is better combat, and better story in my opinion. Xillia is just a bore throughout.
-
I'm playing graces now and it kind of sucks. Graces is good combat.
-
I liked the characters more in Xillia and it's got better art in some places. Graces has a better overworld and the combat is a bit more involved [since it's got dodging and blocking instead of just blocking].

Which one doesn't have cooking, or do they both still have that stupidity?
-
Graces has item combination, but I don't think Xillia does.
-
i think we had the same discussions a while ago and my answer was "none" and it still is

neither of them has cooking because that would take some sort of effort from namco

All Tales games have cooking. Its not mandatory at all though... they just give bonuses. Useful for XP gain.

yeah what i mean is that they don't have cooking in the standard sense of buying ingredients and gathering recipe's from chef and the like,in graces you just mash item together and in xillia there is a cooking shop where you buy the food directly prepared
-
Ended up going with Xillia, because I thought you could buy a dl version of Graces f off the ps store, but apparently not.
DOH.

It's kind of sad that the Tales series is the most prolific jrpg series still going today.

Technically the Atelier games have had more releases this gen, but I'll be fucked before I buy one in public.
