No one will hold it against you. :-*
-
No. Bush never showed proof before he invaded. It was always a sham war and plenty of people knew it.
-
I never bought into it...
-
Yup, never bought it. I don't have a journalistic career to foment with hand-wringing self-doubt and feigned objectivity, so I always figured the war was utterly manufactured crap.
Then again, I'm a straight-up isolationist and wouldn't support ANY war on foreign soil unless it was in response to a direct attack on our country. Hell, I wasn't even sure about the invasion of Afghanistan, but given the Taliban's refusal to cooperate in the prosecution of 9/11, I was willing to let it slide. Shame it didn't open up the opium trade a little wider, though!
-
Yeah, I never bought it. But then again I'm a dirty commie or something.
-
Never supported it
-
Yeah, I'll admit I was behind Afghanistan. That seemed logical.
-
I generally never support the US, lolz.
-
Yeah, I'll admit I was behind Afghanistan. That seemed logical.
I lately have questioned that. I mean I know they "harbored" terrorists but shouldn't we have just gone in got bin laden and co. and leave the country even if Afghanistan wouldn't allow it? It's not like the country has the ability as a nation to attack USA.

lol Ken Pollack lol

That's what we tried to do, but I think since then it's turned into a general Taliban hunt.

2000-2002 I kind of "disconnected" myself from all forms of electronic media. Working 84 hours a week helps reinforce that. But, I can vividly remember picking up a newpaper and reading the Op-Ed's and seeing a political cartoon of GWB, Cheney, etc sitting around a drum and attempting to beat it. The drum was labeled "Iraq War".
I thought to myself, "Typical liberal hysteria. There is no reason for us to invade Iraq. Absurd."
:-X
So, I was completely against it .. but like many, I saw how successful we were during the invasion and began to think that maybe this will work. As if Saddam held this nation captive and they were just waiting to be liberated.
-
I still do.
-
it's good to know anonymous internet contrarianism is alive and well!
-
I still do.
Wait..what? Which are you, John McCain, Dick Cheney, or George Bush? Those are the only 3 americans left who support this war pretty much.

I honestly think I just didn't give a shit. I probably leaned towards it I guess.
-
Guilty as charged.

Is it liberal to be against the war? When 70%+ of the public are against the war, that makes it mainstream and moderate.
I mean when fucking Sam Brownback, mr. ultimate evangelical conservative republican is starting to turn against the war then you know something is up.

Yeah, a presidential primary.
And for the question at hand: see Boogie's answer.

Yeah, a presidential primary.
The three front runners support the surge and the war though. Mainly because the niche 25% of America who supports it still are the ones who vote in republican primaries.
-
I supported our operations in Afghanistan, but I disagreed with the Iraq invasion.
Although, the embedded media coverage of some of the battles was fascinating.
-
I'm a pretty hard Conservative and I was against it. I screamed some expletives when I heard on the news that we had started to attack. I was never for Bush either time that he ran. I wasn't old enough to vote in 2000, but I would have voted for Gore... :-\ Yeah.
