What they should have done was put him in a freezer for a while because rapies cant survive in colder temperatures. Opposums dont have rabies because their body temp is like 94-96 or something

Once rabies reaches that stage it's irreversible.
His nervous system was fried, and after immense suffering he probably succumbed to the disease a few days later.
Again, that video is sick, one of the most disturbing i've ever seen.
