Im thinking about getting one of these as it seems it has a steady stream of solid shit getting released for it. However I honestly dont know the difference between a Core pack and a Premium pack. Whats the diff and which one should I go for? Where I live a core system is cheaper than a Wii... ::)

Core:
System
Composite cables (480i)
One controller
Game?
Premium:
System
Composite and Component Cable (480i-720P/1080i)
Wireless controller (2 controllers?)
Hard drive
Game?
Xbox Live Gold 3 month trial (you also get a month when you make your first account)

I pity the fool that gets the core pack.
-
Just keep an eye out for bundles.
-
The core has:
1 wired controller
NO hard drive
NO headset
only a composite cable
The premium has:
1 wireless controller
A headset
A 20 GB hard drive
A composite/component combo cable

The only thing I may be wrong about is the headset. It came with my launch system, but then again so did a remote. They don't ship the remotes with the premium packs any longer, and I dunno for sure if they still ship the headsets.

I would rather ask my gaming forum for advice than google something.

I just gave you advice.

Unless you can get the core for SUPER cheap (under 180 dollars), AVOID.

the core is fine, esp if you just want to check the system out.
Do you have a hdtv? Maybe you would prefer to buy a vga cable and use your monitor?
One difference to is cosmetic, the dvd tray on the core is white and not shiny.
If you buy the core you will need to buy a memory card or hdd. If you just want to check some games out, and you do not have a hdtv, then get the core and a memory card. if you like it, then you can buy the hdd.
