Did anyone care about the garbage Harmonix put out post-Beatles Rock Band? Let's be honest.

Looks better than most FPSes but wtf with the dubstep? Gonna date the game so bad, if it's not already dated.

Hidden Path is working on this too.

That's promising.

Interesting idea. Sounds like its doomed to failed from an appeal perspective though.

It's not just dubstep btw.

If you're saying following up RBB with RB Green Day was a misstep, I agree. There HAD to be a better band with more mainstream appeal than Green Day. Sadly, Led Zeppelin is uncooperative, and in contrast The Who and Rolling Stones have been so cooperative that most of their charted songs are already available in the game as DLC. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were apparently under an exclusivity contract with Activision for Guitar Hero, but that didn't pan out.

I liked Rock Band Blitz; it was a creative way to let people use their existing DLC in an entirely new way. It's the first Harmonix game I managed to fully complete for Gamerscore, as well.

Dance Central is the most fun, best performing game for Kinect, and MS should have co-opted the menu conventions from it into their own Kinect Guide UX.

There are plenty of reasons to think Harmonix will have trouble selling Chroma on their own, not least among them that the video only listed system is Steam, a platform where their name bears no currency.

This was a design pitch I did years ago. :-\

We wouldn't have been able to pull it off anyways, oh well.

First thing I did on a Kinect project was force the art and programming team to play Dance Central so they could get a better understanding of how to do UI right.

1.) There aren't any graphics settings. Locked at 720.
2.) Gameplay is weird. I played for about 10 minutes as a dual wielder. On the screen were two things running on a beat. The first is a metronome bar that slides back and forth from side to side. The other is a Rock Band style note highway with two notes, left and right, running UP instead of DOWN. Both operate on beat with the music.

I could only shoot my left and right guns on beat with the music AND on beat with the note highway. So when the right note hits the apex, I shoot the right, and so on with the left. It's REALLY weird.

When I run out of ammo I reload with the right mouse button and I have to click it several times in beat with the music, following the metronome I mentioned. It takes like 3 or 4 beats to reload my gun.
