FUCK YEA Danny Boyle is amazing

The Beach is so fucking under rated.

Edit: Guys, the requiem music is great, but it doesnt need to be in every trailer

Yeah, the Requiem song irked me a bit. Still, this is possibly my most anticipated for this year. Deliver the goods, Danny!

Wow, yet another trailer ripping off the Requiem for a Dream music.

It doesn't help that this film looks terribly uninteresting, to boot. ::)

Yes, but then again the concept should also be interesting and connect with the audience, not be an excuse to have people flying around in zero gravity for effect.

We're talking about Danny Boyle here.

I thought it was pretty damn cool, even if it is extremely far-fetched.

Is Millions actually good?  I like Danny Boyle but that kid on the cover looked freaky enough that I was too scared to check it out despite the good reviews.

Yeah, Millions was a nice little surprise. I definately liked it.

Speaking of anticipated movies, when in the hell are we gonna get a trailer for There Will Be Blood? Come on, PTA!

Magnolia was my favorite film of 1999  :shh

It's been 5 years since Punchdrunk Love.  All of his movies are pretty great, but they also all have a fairly odd "this can fall apart and become garbage at any point" quality.  Aside from Boogie Nights, which I think is pretty rock solid.  He's done a good job of balancing the plates so far, and I'm interested to see how he pulls this one off.

I haven't watched Magnolia since it came out on DVD.  What a grat movie, but it's kinda exhausting to watch.  And you have to be willing to put up with a fair amount of pretension.

Magnolia could have been amazing without the "let's all break into song" scene. :-X

Magnolia IS exhausting to watch (hell, its 3 hours, yet it feels like about 4), and it IS prententious. Yet, PTA does so much right that I overlook both of these things, which normally I can't. To me, Magnolia is the definition of a flawed mastepiece. I also worship Boogie Nights, and really like PDL and Hard Eight. So Im down for whatever PTA brings.

Paul Thomas Anderson >>>> Wes Anderson

Fact.

I keep forgetting that I've never seen Hard Eight.  Is that worth tracking down?

I totally agree. Ive never "gotten" Wes. PTA is a man after my own heart.

Absolutely, TVC. Sidney/Hard Eight is a fantastic debut film. Totally rocks.

Hell, the best Wes Anderson work I've ever seen is his fucking Mastercard commercial. Unlike many, for some reason I just don't appreciate his style.

Looks like something Michael Bay would make. Oh wait :lol

"Our mission...re-ignite the sun"
 :lol

And to make matters worse it looks like the Human Torch himself is in this movie.

I like Rushmore, but I don't think it's deserving of its rep.  The Royal Tenenbaums is an example of a movie with pretensions that reaches beyond its grasp.  I have never watched his latest.

Life Auqatic is less pretentious than those two, but it still doesn't have much of a pulse.

Yes. You might like it, but I doubt it. :)

PD once again show his film ignorance by comparing Michael Bay and Danny Boyle. Well done.
